Count me in the none of our damn business camp. Small government is also a conservative issue.

Where children are concerned, it is society's responsibility to ensure that child is not harmed, even emotionally.

Government intervening in cases of "emotional harm?" That's an awfully broad mandate you want to give the State...lots of people think it's emotionally harmful for kids to be raised in homes with guns, you know.

you're sweet for wanting my four adopted children to have a Daddy. I do too, if God wills it. Until then, I teach them about their Heavenly Father who is their Abba Father, and who is the Best Daddy in the Whole World, and nobody better mess with Him or they'll be sorry!

Adopting older children who virtually have no chance of getting adopted, let alone a large sibling set being kept together, is a whole different thing than this crazy Cheney situation.

No matter WHAT some of you in here think!

The way you prevent two gay men from adopting or using a surrogate is to legally force the issue and make it illegal! Lesbian women can find a sperm donor any night at a club, I guess. Honestly, I wouldn't carry a sign on a street corner against homosexual couples adopting. I would just give my opinion and speak God's truth wherever I had a forum to do so...hhmmmm.....

like in HERE!!!!!

don't be. see 186 for an intelligent and logical answer. There are already 500,000 in the United States alone in foster care, nearly half of which will never go home and need to be adopted.

THAT'S where our country needs to place all their social resources and speeches and marches and money. Taking care of the trainloads of orphans we already have.

I don't care.

I don't approve of 40% of the population being allowed to procreate... beginning with Britney Spears. But hey, if one's biologically able, there's not much I can do to prevent it.

"There are already 500,000 in the United States alone in foster care...."

Most of these foster care kids can NOT be adopted due to the fact the parents will not release them to be adopted. Also, the amount of true orphans is very small in this country.

The only homosexuals I know with their own children were previously married. And if someone wants to supply sperm to one of them, whom am I to object?

I am speaking legally, not morally. I don't think it's the government's business to be taking away people's kids because they're gay although I think it should factor into who is the better parent for primary custody.
