Is Homosexuality a Learned Behavior?
Christine: My 22-year-old daughter is in a relationship with a woman. I don't believe she is a lesbian. Could this be a form of rebellion and a result of getting in with the "wrong" crowd? Can homosexuality be learned and unlearned?

Homosexuality is not a learned behavior. A sexual orientation is inherited; you are wired that way. Certainly some people will experiment with a gay lifestyle, and a gay person might experiment with a heterosexual one. If she is really gay, she will find a place in that life and in that community. The important thing is that you just love her through that. What difference does it make if she is gay? Accept her, support her and do not be judgmental. It is difficult enough for her to live openly and honestly in this society; don't put your judgment on top of that.

At the risk of asking the obvious, exactly what does he mean by "wired"? Is he talking about genetics? If he is, he might want to brush up on his facts before he spouts anymore nonsense.

If sexual orientation was "inherited," it would eventually have passed out of the human race because of lack of progeny.
While I agree that homosexuality is not a "choice" in the conscious sense, neither is it genetic. Rather, it arises from an urgent need for closeness with the same sex, perhaps from a lack of an emotional bond with the father. This drive simply becomes sexualized in adolescence.

I think there is a tiny minority of born homosexuals but for the most part it's learned behavior.
Back when I was in school in the late 70s and early 80s was when they started trying to teach it. They told us that all "normal" boys have occasional homosexual thoughts and feelings. Basically they told vulnerable 12 and 13 year old kids that they weren't normal if they didn't have homosexual thoughts and what kid doesn't want to be normal?
I was lucky to be among the earliest attempts at socially engineered homosexuality and it didn't take. I assume they have refined their methods and have become a lot more successful.

You mean like cancer, leukemia, heart problems and stuff like that? As long as sperm and eggs are present, mankind will survive. Look at what comes on Jerry Springer ... and they somehow manage to produce offspring like crazy.
Some DNA methylation is "permanent", e.g. the methylation that "turns off" teeth in birds, and some of it occurs during the life of the critter. For the most part it's not "inherited".
I agree completely. There is some percentage of the population born with a congenital defect (heart, limb, whatever). I think the 'truly' gay people are simply 'deformed'; but it's very un-PC to call them disabled, or otherwise disabled. But, that is exactly what they are.
Meanwhile, we also have a certain segment of the population that has an 'anything goes' approach to sex. Any one, anytime, anything. This is a lifestyle choice. If one takes a long view; these people will either die, or settle into a hetero- or homosexual lifestyle. The truly 'gay' (in my LIMITED experience) tend to stay orientated this way throughout their life.
That's probably why the gay crowd is so insistent on "importing" foreign gays as "refugees".
