In the novel "The Mind Parasites" the Lunar Leaches Lose their Leash on Mankind! After the final battle the winners sense an intelligent being in a spacecraft passing our solar system just outside the orbit of Pluto!
Is this a precursor to that contact or..., (Star Trek First Contact was on SciFi this weekend. Might this be the {gulp} BORG!)

This just in...
SETI confirms: Keith Olberman is an alien.
Film at 11.
[Seriously, I hope the rumor that started this thread is true.]

Editor's update: for all of you out there who have been waving your arms around and speculating, this is not an announcement about finding a signal from ETs, the face on Mars, or anything else. It is far more mundane. Details of the announcement were released - under press embargo - to reporters last week. A press release about the announcement will be issued on Tuesday by the SETI Institute.

Don't mean to break your chops, but FWIW, according to the latest cosmological theories, the notion of the center of the universe is meaningless. Anywhere in the known universe is as good a center as any other.

Especially if it is a disernable language, send in the open, un-encrypted. I've always been a bit concerned with the signals we've picked up before that were short bursts..never to be repeated. Kinda like military comm sets that sweep frequencies.
