LOS ANGELES - Country singer Sara Evans on Thursday announced she was filing for divorce and quitting the Dancing With the Stars television competition.
Evans filed for divorce from Craig Schelske in Williamson County, Tenn., where she lives, according to a statement issued by Allen Brown, her representative at Sony BMG Music Entertainment.

You know, this kind of stuff is really tough, even for adults to discuss.
If it makes any difference, I think it comes down to this for me spiritually...
Selfishness is sin. We are a sinful by nature. Therefore, to do good, and to resist our nature, we look humbly to God for help.
And there you have my "in a nutshell" spiritual perspective on the entire conflict between good and evil in this world.
The announcement of Sara's quitting "Dancing wih the Stars" was on the news this morning and I was saddened. Didn't know any of the rest of these icky details until reading them here, except that she was divorcing.
I have so enjoyed watching her on the show - I wasn't familiar with her before Tom DeLay asked people to vote for her. I had been afraid every week that she would be booted off, but I had been praying for her.
Each week, as she advanced to the next week, I was using her popularity as a barometer on the Pubbie chances at the polls next month - not seriously, but kind of as a joke.
So, this news of her being the first to ever drop out kind of skewed my research! And then to find out it was her hubby's Foley-esque behavior behind it all, I am puzzled as to how to extrapolate this turn of events.
Men respond to sex physically. As a result, pornography or quick, easy sex and a wandering eye are huge temptations. Men may "cheat on their spouse" by objectifying sex as simply a physical act, and disregarding any pain they may cause their wives. In other words, "It didn't mean anything to me, so it shouldn't mean anything to you." If a woman is simply a servant/prostitute for a man, and is ignored emotionally, he is "cheating on her"...even if he never actually has sex with another person. Not one of those things is healthy, and every single one of them creates pain for a spouse.
I understand that you threw the air quotes around "cheating," above, but therein lies the disconnect, if you will. In this context, cheating on your spouse is committing adultery, which is having actual old-fashioned, red-blooded intercourse with someone other than your spouse. And yes, that includes getting a bravo juliet from someone else, or giving one to someone else. Committing adultery is what's verbotten when you take your marriage vows. In the classic sense, adultery is what constitutes cheating.I think we should avoid using these terms interchangeably.
Isn't is a little more helpful to point out our own weakensses, let others know that God is slowly helping us overcome them, and that there is Hope?
I think our biggest problem in America is that we in the church have been talking about the cure so long we've let the world forget that it has a disease. That said, in most contexts your approach is the right one. But let me ask you this: I see people doing that sort of thing on this board every day. When's the last time you saw somebody like Cold Heat or any of the other "George Washington would love my porn" crowd say, "Wow, I appreciate that you're judging yourself and leaving me alone. You are a fine example of Christianity." I haven't. Instead, they only seem to care about one's moral life when they feel the Veggie Tales Gestapo might come get them.
One might also ask, if we use your standard, isn't Hildy and Cold Heat's trumpeting how great porn can be for your marriage just as silly, morally intrusive and preachy?
Nothing about trains or jail or ...
"WHY would a happily married couple do PORN??"
Money
I doubt your "most" statement. All kinds of possibilities.
Some women refrain and complain about their husbands so they can cheat on them. Then play the victim when the husband catches on and leaves them.
Not the case of course with Ms. Evans.
She is righ in divorcing him IMO
Excellent post, especially the bit about indentured servitude.
It certainly applies here, but if the words written with the key board would draw a likely violent reply if uttered in person, then it is not proper speech as your quote illustrates.
Peruse the posters assertions of a directly personal nature and you will see that. If you don't then you are using the quote as justification for personal attacks to cover a lack of knowledge on the subject matter and what can only be identified as salacious and specious argument to elicit a anger response.
In other words.......trolling....
Though I have reviewed Ashamed's posts and agree they are over the top, I stand by everything I wrote. I would also note that criticizing someone's intellectual conclusions is a far cry from screaming "SINNER" at them.
Blues, Despair & Agony on Me.
Denise Richards objected too, but that didn't stop Mr. Sheen.
You can see them all here, search on her (probably won't work on dial up). http://www.cmt.com/loaded/player.jhtml?launchedFrom=loaded
"Denise Richards objected too, but that didn't stop Mr. Sheen."
Charlie Sheen is insane.
Continuing my train of thought. Bless her heart, she is sooo pretty and seems to be a decent person. They had to keep telling her to "open up" more and not dance so "conservatively" at first.
Then she did her cowgirl jive number a couple of weeks ago and she was "hot." She was just adorable.
The week after that, she was forced to do a paso doble to the Phantom of the Opera theme (not even Music of the Night, drat) and it was really awful. The girl judge, Inaba, said she looked like she was mourning something, with her terrible outfit and her dour demeanor.
I guess we know now what was going on behind the scenes. I was pretty worried about her doing the Latin dances this week, whether she got the rhumba or the samba. She is not as good a dancer as Vivica Fox was - and Fox got booted last week.
I didn't like Willa Ford, who got booted this week - and she is evidently going out with her partner Max (Maks?) now. Couldn't happen to a better couple, IMHSnarkyO.
Sara did a pretty good samba, under the circumstances. The outfit made her look fat in the middle, so I wish it could've been a little different, but I liked it, overall. She has been a very good sport and I'm glad she got this far. I'm sorry this had to happen to her.
I thought for sure it would be Jerry Springer when they said someone was dropping out, before they said it was Sara. I thought maybe he had reached the end of his physical capabilities to keep doing this. And as long as he was still being voted in, I thought Sara always had a chance to keep going!
Hmm, which girls are left? Monique is the only one, I guess. She's OK, but I don't really like her all that much. I guess Mario, Joey, Emmitt and Jerry will have to duke it out. Rumors are that Mario is seeing his pro partner in off-hours, too. That sort of makes it easier for twosomes to do the sexy dances - more than Sara could, for sure.
That leaves no one for me to cheer on, really. Emmitt's good, but my heart belongs to Jerry Rice from last year, lol. Emmitt's not as "cute," but he does have a way about him. Mario bothers me with his fake "innocent" persona; Joey I'm always afraid is going to burst one of those veins in his forehead that is always throbbing, and Jerry, well, just shouldn't still be there.
I liked Edyta from before, but not so much this time around. Shoot, I'll just watch to see what they do next!
Well, then Denise Richards goes out and gets engaged to her best friend's husband.
*I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison ... and I went to pick her up in the rain ... but before I could get to the station in my pick-em-up truck, she got runned over by a damned ole train ...*
*You don't have to call me darlin', darlin', ya never even called me by my ... why is it you never call me? ... you never even called me by muh name.*
There ya go.
That goes without saying if you leave Denise Richards for any woman.
Hey, she was distressed. Troubled. Still dealing with the 2004 election.
