I didn't read ashamedof's comments and was not addressing those, but I will read them and get bac to you. I was addressing how Hildy invited Suzy to comment, and then Cold heat jumped all over her for commenting. I stand by my "Veggie tales all weekend" characterization for the most vocal libertines on this board, and I stand by it no matter how any particular Christian may be acting.

Isn't is a little more helpful to point out our own weakensses, let others know that God is slowly helping us overcome them, and that there is Hope?

I think our biggest problem in America is that we in the church have been talking about the cure so long we've let the world forget that it has a disease. That said, in most contexts your approach is the right one. But let me ask you this: I see people doing that sort of thing on this board every day. When's the last time you saw somebody like Cold Heat or any of the other "George Washington would love my porn" crowd say, "Wow, I appreciate that you're judging yourself and leaving me alone. You are a fine example of Christianity." I haven't. Instead, they only seem to care about one's moral life when they feel the Veggie Tales Gestapo might come get them.

One might also ask, if we use your standard, isn't Hildy and Cold Heat's trumpeting how great porn can be for your marriage just as silly, morally intrusive and preachy?

Though I have reviewed Ashamed's posts and agree they are over the top, I stand by everything I wrote. I would also note that criticizing someone's intellectual conclusions is a far cry from screaming "SINNER" at them.

If I ever preach a sermon, I'm going to use that line.
