The announcement of Sara's quitting "Dancing wih the Stars" was on the news this morning and I was saddened. Didn't know any of the rest of these icky details until reading them here, except that she was divorcing.
I have so enjoyed watching her on the show - I wasn't familiar with her before Tom DeLay asked people to vote for her. I had been afraid every week that she would be booted off, but I had been praying for her.
Each week, as she advanced to the next week, I was using her popularity as a barometer on the Pubbie chances at the polls next month - not seriously, but kind of as a joke.
So, this news of her being the first to ever drop out kind of skewed my research! And then to find out it was her hubby's Foley-esque behavior behind it all, I am puzzled as to how to extrapolate this turn of events.
Continuing my train of thought. Bless her heart, she is sooo pretty and seems to be a decent person. They had to keep telling her to "open up" more and not dance so "conservatively" at first.
Then she did her cowgirl jive number a couple of weeks ago and she was "hot." She was just adorable.
The week after that, she was forced to do a paso doble to the Phantom of the Opera theme (not even Music of the Night, drat) and it was really awful. The girl judge, Inaba, said she looked like she was mourning something, with her terrible outfit and her dour demeanor.
I guess we know now what was going on behind the scenes. I was pretty worried about her doing the Latin dances this week, whether she got the rhumba or the samba. She is not as good a dancer as Vivica Fox was - and Fox got booted last week.
I didn't like Willa Ford, who got booted this week - and she is evidently going out with her partner Max (Maks?) now. Couldn't happen to a better couple, IMHSnarkyO.
Sara did a pretty good samba, under the circumstances. The outfit made her look fat in the middle, so I wish it could've been a little different, but I liked it, overall. She has been a very good sport and I'm glad she got this far. I'm sorry this had to happen to her.
I thought for sure it would be Jerry Springer when they said someone was dropping out, before they said it was Sara. I thought maybe he had reached the end of his physical capabilities to keep doing this. And as long as he was still being voted in, I thought Sara always had a chance to keep going!
Hmm, which girls are left? Monique is the only one, I guess. She's OK, but I don't really like her all that much. I guess Mario, Joey, Emmitt and Jerry will have to duke it out. Rumors are that Mario is seeing his pro partner in off-hours, too. That sort of makes it easier for twosomes to do the sexy dances - more than Sara could, for sure.
That leaves no one for me to cheer on, really. Emmitt's good, but my heart belongs to Jerry Rice from last year, lol. Emmitt's not as "cute," but he does have a way about him. Mario bothers me with his fake "innocent" persona; Joey I'm always afraid is going to burst one of those veins in his forehead that is always throbbing, and Jerry, well, just shouldn't still be there.
I liked Edyta from before, but not so much this time around. Shoot, I'll just watch to see what they do next!
