When I was little, my grandfather bought me this weird flat 'stuffed animal' (of a shape very similar to this) with strategically-placed snaps all over it. Theoretically you could snap it into various animal shapes, like tigers or puppies.
That's gotta be what it is. I'll bet you cold fold it into a rhino shape pretty easily.

It appears to be a cross between a mole and a ray. Given its gay rainbow coloring, I'm also guessing its asexual.
