A cat with two faces beats the odds [EIGHT YEARS OLD AND HEALTHY! WITH VIDEO!]

SHREWSBURY, Mass. -- Saved from being put to death, a two-faced cat has shown that beating the odds only takes a little love and faith.

Milbury native Marty saved the cat from being euthanized almost seven years ago.

"I just fell in love with him," Marty said. "I'm a bleeding heart."

Marty named the cat Frank and Louis so each face would have a name.

Frank and Louis have altogether two mouths, two noses and two working eyes.

Cats with two faces are extremely rare. Most die within a few days of being born, but not Frank and Louis.

"Everyday I thank God that he is still doing ok," Marty said. "He's like my son."

I vaguely remember seeing either a doc or reading an article about a headless chicken. The owner fed it through the hole in the neck... Lived a long time after the incident.

Have you seen the Kandoo ads? My 4 year old calls the Kandoo wipes the "frog wiping his butt" wipes. The logo even depicts a frog wiping his butt.

Oh, and BTW, I did meet a kitty who had eight feet. Two on each leg.

And some dumb lady who was also there said, "Oh, is that a special breed?"

Yeah, lady, they breed em like that.

Actually some people do breed cats for deformities - Google "munchkin cats" or "twisty cats". Example:

Munchkins I'm undecided on, but breeding twisty cats seems reprehensible.

True. I am not EVEN gonna look at the twisty cats. Sounds terrible.

As far as the munchkins go, I cannot believe they allowed that to become a breed. You are just asking for health problems when you start to deform an animal through breeding.

And munchkins look wrong, too. It is not cute, IMO.

I don't believe that munchkins are a recognized breed, and some appear by pure chance rather than deliberate breeding.

IMO, I don't think that breeding for desired characteristics is inherently wrong - look at every domesticated animal species, including cats. The short legs are not an objectively harmful mutation; my main concern there is (as you mentioned) whether or not it comes with health problems.

Well of course not, silly.

But when the desired characteristic is a physical deformity, something other than things like a spotted coat or a sweet temperament, and generally here I am talking about defects in bone structure such as Dachshunds and Persians, people need to understand that there will be problems.

And with those additional problems come additional expenses, which most people never consider when buying a Pug or a Himalayan or any other animal that has been bred with specific physical traits that you would not find in nature.

And then those animals suffer because people aren't willing to spend the money that it takes to maintain the health of those creatures. And that makes me mad.

My understanding is that munchkins can be expected to develop hip/joint problems later in life.

didn't say whether the second face actually eats anything - but I would love to put a big rib bone down and watch the action....must have 2 brains, the mouths look intact...what a wonder!

I am all for SAVING all of God's creatures even if they have deformities, but I hate the idea of CREATING and experimenting with these poor animals - they never really told us how many sheep were born in such bizarre configurations as they cloned the clone sheep...ugh...I am not even going to look that up......

People are so stupid. They are conjoined twins.

Video of conjoined twin kittens:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnvIakTHPCE

These are darling babies. Plural. Apparently they can't latch, and they are crying because they are HUNGRY. HELLO! Get a tiny bottle of milk replacement for these hungry cats you people!

And the mother (human) is just sitting there in the background.
