His research likely covers physchiatric "problems". Some case books are very direct....If you say this, it means this and you have this "mental condition".
I'm not saying he's not one sicko, but I think it's a game with him and he continues it because he got caught up in it. In the meantime, he makes everyone he talks to his victim.
Remember Sandbar, the dude from the Colorado newspaper. He passed Karr on to...(I forgot)....a professor?, a writer?? Sandbar had better things to do than become John's victim.

Photographer who took many of JonBenet's photos and sold the portfolio for $7,500. He is responsible for many of the images of JonBenet that have become so familiar. Simons was arrested October 16, 1998 in Genoa, Colorado, on suspicion of indecent exposure. He was arrested while walking down a residential street nude. He reportedly blurted out to the arresting deputy, "I didn't kill Jonbenet," and was sent to Denver University Hospital for a mental evaluation.

I wander if he is the guy and he's thinking that it would be quite a feat to have done this, confessed and gone to trial for it, then be vindicated of it. In the criminal world that he idolizes, who could top that.

Free-lance photographer Randy Simons, who had taken pictures of JonBenet for her beauty pageant portfolio, was apprehended Oct. 16, 1998, when a sheriff's deputy found him walking nude along a street in Genoa -- an eastern Plains town of 200 people.
Yowell, the Lincoln County sheriff, said that when approached by a deputy, Simons volunteered, unsolicited, "I didn't kill JonBenet."
He was taken into protective custody, treated at University Hospital, and allowed to return home three days later with no charges filed against him.
The emails I read are very chilling and full of innuendo and subtle clues. The author preens and boasts and drops hints all over the place, and refers to himself as a dangerous killer of little girls who won't stop. (Who would perpetuate a hoax like that for 8 months??).
All written in 1999, only three years after the murder--and when Tracey first established contact (seven years ago!). The correspondents were too easily distracted by wild tangents trying to prove the author was Mrs. Ramsey, and they didn't know how to use the Internet and its resources well enough to prove or disprove enough. Hopefully the authorities will be able to trace the buyer of the anonymizer account and prove it was Karr all along, and the emails will help convict him and put him to a painful death.
Or so I think. We'll see.

We had an alarm system too and rarely used it.
To clarify (I hurriedly typed my answer last night and went to bed), I know NOW what I didn't then, and that is that Larry King had someone on who said the same as you...namely, that JMK couldn't have been at the party on the 26th...wasn't on the guest list, everyone knew the others at the party, no sign his brother worked for John R, etc.
I had read the comments of others who watched Larry and I don't think I read anything like that.
What I do know is that Paula Zahn and Nancy Grace and CNN Breaking News hyped like crazy that Karr is saying he was there, and that there was a party on that date, and from what I saw they didn't try to refute it.
That's why I wrote to you that as long as such reports keep coming out and there's not yet clarification from the prosecutor, whether in a statement clearing Karr of the murder, or in a trial of him for murder, what can we do but withhold final judgement?
You know the prosecutor has or is or will talk to those who were at the party. It should be a slam dunk, right, for them to clear this up.

According to the CNN report, which is all I had to go by, Karr claimed his brother worked for John Ramsey and was therefore able to get in the party and that he went with his brother.
Others are saying there's no record his brother worked for John (could he have worked for someone connected to John, but a step or two remote from John?), and are saying that everyone there knew everyone else and Karr would have been a stranger.
Your point (there to work, not as a guest) is worth pursuing IF the prosecutor is to clear up her case...either clear Karr of murder or charge him.
Surely the prosecutor is on this crucial detail like a fly on honey. If not, shame on her.
Wasn't his name Sandrock, not Sandbar?
