I don't understand, some people say that Islam is responsible for terrorism today, rather than those who manipulate and perversely interpret Islam to further their murderous aims.
Islam is so similiar to Christianity that there isn't even a point to it, every quote showing "Judeao-Christian hatred" can be logically explained by anyone who has read the Quran.
We have groups like Muslims for Bush (now Muslims for America) a primarily Republican group of American muslims supporting the War on Terror.
No help from the Ali Babas and Demotraitors. HAve you heard one province is under total Iraqi control?
"They fight for us in the MIdEast, demonstrated against terror, wrote editorials, and generally stay put and not kill people."
The do not fight for us. They fight for themselves. In the cases of the few Muslim countries that are currently on our side in this, their ruling classes fear the mob and use us to remain in power or as a bulwark against their regional enemies.
They are NOT our friends and allies in the normal meaning of the words - and they far more frequently demonstrate FOR terror than against.
Of course not. You think I don't know about the Crusades? Doesn't mean it can't happen in the distant past.
"Of course not. You think I don't know about the Crusades? Doesn't mean it can't happen in the distant past."
I can make up lots of conspiracy theories too.
Tell that to the Iraqis and Afghanis. Tell that to the family of Lance Corporal Jabron Hashmi and Hatim Kathiria.
There is no love lost for the terrorist or the BAathists. They would eventually make great allies and help forward the cause of reform.
"Tell that to the Iraqis and Afghanis."
You mean the same Afghanis who wanted Abdul Rahman murdered?
Nothing has changed.
"Tell that to the family of Lance Corporal Jabron Hashmi and Hatim Kathiria."
Tell that to Sgt Akbar. There are people who call themselves "Muslim" and those who actually practice it. It's the latter one has to worry about - and it's very difficult to tell the two apart. You see, the problem isn't the people, but their religion.
Hahahahaha...I don't care who you are, that's funny right there!
It's hypothetical. I don't know what the hell is up with the religion but one thing I do know is we should concentrate firepower on only those trying to kill us and leave the rest alone.
"I don't know what the hell is up with the religion but one thing I do know is we should concentrate firepower on only those trying to kill us and leave the rest alone."
What's "up with the religion" is the religion itself. Always has been. How do you tell the terrorists from the innocents?
"You mean the same Afghanis who wanted Abdul Rahman murdered?"
One, it was a handful of yahoos in a country of thousands. Two, some of the intolerance needs to be weeded out gradually.
"You see, the problem isn't the people, but their religion."
Good. We agree on that. We've got Hashimis and Akbars, ok. Weed out the Akbars and keep the Hashimis, just like we do with every other people from a race/creed/belief.
Intel, spies, observation. One thing we don't do is indiscriminately harass or kill people.
Well, it was more than one holy man, I gave you several examples, but there's certainly more in the archives of the Catholic Church's history that spoke out against Islam. Popes as well as priests, Bishops and monks. Pope Benedict XVI is keeping a more "arms length" approach than Pope John Paul II, IMO. Even at that, Pope John Paul II. who reached out to them, said in his book "Crossing the Threshold of Hope" in the section on Muhammad:
"Whoever knows the Old and New Testaments, and then reads the Koran, clearly sees the process by which it completely reduces Divine Revelation. It is impossible not to note the movement away from what God said about Himself, first in the Old Testament through the Prophets, and then finally in the New Testament through His Son. In Islam all the richness of God's self-revelation, which constitutes the heritage of the Old and New Testaments, has definitely been set aside."
And...
"There is no room for the Cross and the Resurrection. Jesus is mentioned, but only as a prophet who prepares for the last prophet, Muhammad. There is also mention of Mary, His Virgin Mother, but the tragedy of redemption is completely absent. For this reason not only the theology but also the anthropology of Islam is very distant from Christianity."
So you see, when you claim that it is similar to Christianity, you appear to be at odds with the Catholic faith on that issue.
Just curious.. what faith do you follow?
Don't EVEN try to use the Crusades. Christians had had enough of "peaceful" muslim aggression and fought back after the muslims were outside the gates of Vienna. The Crusades were the Christians response after centuries of muslim aggression.
Islam is not the only faith spread through war, Catholocism and Protestantism has been as well.
The difference is that muslims are still murdering to gain land and "converts".
Yes. And we see their deeds despite idiot spin. :)
ROman Catholicism.
"Here is 164 Jihad Verses in the Koran. Knock yourself out.
Hmm...wonder why I don't ever see you over on the Religion forum talking to the other Catholics?
