And I´m pulling for GERMANY because a) I´m German and b) the party shall go on. The atmosphere is so great and positive, that cannot be over today. By the way, the German team has impressed during this tournament - unlike Argentina, which had a good start, but a tie against the Netherlands and after 90 minutes against Mexico aren´t persuasive.

Rooting for Germany, mostly because I really want to see a germany-england final.

Now there's fun!

Didn't the Germans look great in the first half against Sweden? They've got two great finishers up front and a solid captain in Ballack. If England don't go all the way, I'm pulling for Germany.

Face it. The German team has had a absolute cakewalk schedule till now.

Their first real test is tomorrow.

Yes, and I'm half German and love the country. But I'm rooting for England now that the US blew it.

Plus the English fans have caused a national panic in Germany having drunk almost all available beer. Now thats a accomplishment!

Don't worry.

After a great game, Germany will go though.

I will miss Messi, but look forward to seeing England beat you in Berlin :-)

You had better hope Germany wins it all. If they don't you'll be beerless, and have lost!

(And is there anything worse than not having beer to drown your sorrows in?)

By the way, I read your comment that says you think you still have plenty of beer. I just don't think Germany would ever admit being low on beer (it's like admitting that the oceans are low on water). And I've heard that the English fans have just warmed up.

I'm pulling for Germany because...

1. Jurgen Klinsmann
2. I HATE that commie Maradona.

A very, very long time ago, a large portion of my ancestors (roughly five eighths of my bloodline) left France for Québec. However, now that the USA is out, I find myself pulling for Les Blues.

Tall task to beat Brazil, though, even on European soil. We will see. Zidane played as well in the Spain game as he has ever played.

I know statistics are largely irrelevant but...

Germany have not beaten a top flight nation in competition since 2000 when they defeated England 1-0 in World Cup qualifying. In the return leg in Germany the following year, England beat them 5-1.

Hey Michael,

I'm rooting for Germany today, and it looks like it will be a good game.

Oh, I went to an Oktoberfest near my house last week at Germania park, and I had a blast. My German ancestry is a very small percentage, but I fit right in, and had some Weiss bier and Jagermeister. I'd say a good half of the people are of Bavarian extraction, and they were all dressed up. I can't wait until I go to Germany and experience a real Oktoberfest. Anyway, Viel gluck mit der fussball spielen heute!

I have to agree, although I originally thought Argentina was the team to beat. This game is for the tournament.

right on!! The current German team has impressed me -- not as dour as the team 4 years ago -- on the contrary, sparkling, exciting fuBball, with Lam, Klose, Podolski, Lehmann, Ballack, everyone playing entertaining footie!
