The Hobbit Hole XXX - Then world behind and home ahead...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 06/28/2006 10:14:11 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Then world behind and home ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

If she really can't hold anything down, are you saying that is the pain meds or does that mean there should be a call to the doctor about that?

I don't know what to say, can't even imagine, the grief of those around your friend David. Prayers indeed.

I've got the hose running full bore in a mole hole, and Tweek found that to be fascinating.

Gidget stopped by to observe what might be observed as well...

At this writing the hose has been running in that hole for 20 minutes. There may be a geyser that has suddenly sprouted up somewhere in someone else's yard and people standing around scratching their heads. :~)

Hope your afternoon takes your mind off of things Corin.

Pain or no eating, ugh. It would be awfully hard to make that choice.

I don't have any windows in the bathroom. Got the bathroom fan and the house fan running. Can't smell it outside the B-room.

I'm ~stuned~!!

Could easily be one of her kin! :-D

Well, both the house and the dog are "essence-free" now. I'm gonna take a break and watch some TV.

Glad to hear it :~)

Where are you leaving her when you go out? Does she stay inside, outside, or did you get her a crate?

I left her outside the first couple times, but yesterday we left her inside with self-serve doggy-door access out.

We were gone for over 4 hours and she didn't do a single naughty thing. :-D

We're all going to go for a walk around the block now, to finish drying Trciksey off from her bath.

Beack in a bit.

That's terrific she can be left with the doggie door. Very easy dog to have around, that :~)

That's devastating news, but I must tell you, I had a cousin who had gone in for a heart valve replacement, and was left in a coma. For almost 6 weeks, she didn't come out of it, and the doctors suggested to her husband that if she did, she'd never be the same, and that they should take her off life support. Her husband didn't want to do that to their kids at Christmas, so he waited. Twelve days later, on the Feast of the Epiphany, she not only came out of the coma, but didn't have any brain damage at all, only a memory loss that encompassed her time in the hospital. Regretably, she died 6 weeks later, but that's because her heart was so damaged, they didn't have any other places to put the shunts, and her health was too compromised to do a transplant.

I'm just saying, don't give up hope, cause one never knows, does one? He's on our prayer line, so we gots folks praying for him up here, too!

Heh...

And considering how extensive this mole hole apparently is, that could be somewhere in the next county.

After nearly an hour, it was still pouring freely into the hole. We turned it off. At least maybe I gave a good drink to all the trees in the yard :~)

Tweek, the Great Hunter, found the lizard in the house!

Lizard looks OK - besides losing his tail, which is a design feature... I let him go in the woods.

Hmmm.... wonder where the tail is?
