We lost a cat to neighbors with a BB gun several years ago

When I was in grade school, we had a neighbor who shot at our cat. One night he heard him take a shot, so I got my BB gun. As soon as he shot again, I shot at the tree right next to my neighbor. He immediately went back into the house.

You were lucky to have known her.

He's grown leaps and bounds since I saw him last! Boy, does he look like a lover! How is he?

Trouble is BIG and fits his name... About 3 weeks ago, I have been painting my house... I dug out the vacuum and he went and hid... unlike DC who LOVES the vacuum... Anyway, Trouble was trying to hide and went behind a shelf and knocked over the shelf and broke about 1200.00 worth of glass. Only 3 pieces, but they were GOOD pieces. He knew he did a bad thing... but after 2 days of me ignoring him, we have made up, until I look at the remnants of the pieces he broke.

Sigh... He is still my favorite... Even though he likes to lick the tops of my beer cans!

We have three indoor-outdoor cats, but the Fat Cat Does Not Go Out, at least not without adult supervision.

She had a bad accident when a wooden pallet fell on her, and was in a cast during the time period from kitten to semi-grown cat, and never learned to be afraid of cars.

We let her out at least once a day to nibble on grass but watch her like a hawk.

The others come and go as they please. We keep their shots up to date.

I don't let my cats outdoors either. I've had too many friends lose pet cats to poisoning, being hit by a car or other CAT-astrophes.

My cats tend to live long, healthy, happy lives.

Actually as Rightfoorforward stated there are a good number of reasons not to let cats outside.

Not only do we have coyotes, dogs running loose and ringworm to possibly contend with. We also have a large contingent of stray cats that are fed by different people around us. Cat fights while not fatal can result in severe abcesses.

Many of the kittens born to the feral cats don't survive kittenhood because they are born with some type of disease which causes their nasal pasages to become so clogged up they suffocate. These same kittens will have eyes they can't open because they're so matted.

I'll keep mine inside where they don't come into contact with disease or die by dog or coyote.

Yikes. It sounds like we all - know - based our personal cat history. Here's mine. 55 years old, and have always had at least 2.

First cat taken to "the farm".

And more after that, as a child.

First birth ever viewed were kittens, more than once. One mom cat just totally would not take her kitty to her. First viewed death.

I've always had cats ever since. Mostly indoor/outdoor.

One was injured when she got into a car and some AH shut the car door on her leg and broke it. Spent WAY too much money on her. She truly went nuts, but I loved her till the end.

As of current: 2 old cats. Living country outdoors alot, because they like it. Eat/sleep/potty indoors and out. Their choice - they are both at least 17 years old.

I recently lost a cat due to kidney failure as well as one from it two years ago.

I'm no expert, but I strongly recommend feeding a cat food designed to minimize urinary track problems. I have two 16 year old cats that get Purina One formula for older cats, and a spoonful of special diet canned food as a treat. One of them was having obvious kidney problems before we switched.

People trust different brands, but I find this brand easy to get anywhere.

Lol, not again! Poor Trouble. You need to get some shelving that has the bars across the front so that nothing can fall out!

The boom was holding up artificially high prices.

I don't like cats. They taste terrible.
