Megan Kendall says defenses sources are saying that CGM had sex with the driver the night of the alledged rape.
She also said that the prosecuter claims to have "good news" for their case. We have heard that before.
If anyone gets additional information on this, please provide links.
Thanks
My view on this hair story:
1. Given the defense record on DNA, rape drugs, the IDs, etc. in this case, it is probably a lie.
2. If the hair exists, I am not surprised that a hooker would have a spare pubic hair on her.
3. If Nifong tries to introduce this, then her work as a hooker comes in and the defense asks her how many of her customers were white men.
If Mangum were on trial for lying, this claimed hair would raise a small bit of doubt that she was not lying. The evidence we have so far would still convict her.
This case is being discussed backwards. Nifong has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she was raped by these three defendants. One tiny bit of evidence that does not conflict with her story hardly makes up for all the other evidence working against her story.
I heard him say it once; musta missed the second time. It was Rod Wheeler. The question is, was DPD just using him, or is it legit? The thing is, I still wonder how the cops and DA knew to check McFayden's computer. Who snitched McFayden off? It had to either be a roommate in the dorm or one of the players he wrote to that night.
This has always bothered me, and I have never been convinced that Nifong doesn't have a player that puts sounds coming from the bathroom or something that somehow corroborates part of Mangum's story, even if nobody was named.
Has the defense actually ever said definitively that every single player is on board with the defense that NOTHING was done to Mangum by those players that njight?
Yeah, I know, but that's what escorts are. They go on calls - they don't work the streets.
But if she really did shower at Taylor's place, it seems like a customer's hair would be washed away. We just don't know if she showered since we can't believe anything any of these people say.
Yeah, but the article points out that there's been no movement in the case for three months.
I'm not sure how it helps the cops and the DA in their PR campaign.
The DA has received good news?
The cell phone is dead. ;)
I don't have any direct statements from the defense. But I think they have said that they have talked to every player on the team and have gotten them "on record" of what happened that night.
The cell phone is dead. ;)
I thought the good news was he just saved a bunch of money by switching to Geico. ;)
I don't think Nifong really has and good news that will help him win his case. There is already way too many holes in it. I also see the defense coming out the next day and ruining whatever good news Nifong thinks he has with their own.
"I fit the bill as Hispanic, so they were assuming the next girl would be white," Roberts told the magazine, explaining that she is sometimes mistaken for Latina. "And then here she comes, walking around the corner."
No way I would have thought Roberts was Hispanic-Latina.
The way I'm reading this: "consistent with" taints the jurors mind.
I'm not good at this but I think this is where it can be found under "Virginia court rules on nurse experts".

Oh, geez, check this out, from the first article:
"Roberts, who has granted previous interviews, continued to say she did not know what happened during the approximately half hour in which the alleged victim says she was pulled into a bathroom and raped."
The article assumes Mangum was MIA for thirty minutes, and that Kim confirms this. So, she was just sitting waiting to leave for thrity minutes. Bull.
The author is about as subtle as a freight train. What the author should have said is that Roberts doesn't know what, if anything, happened in connection to the accuser's claim of being pulled into a bathroom and raped for approximately thrity minutes.
Yes, that was said just last week. But that doesn't definitively state that the players are all of the mind (and story) that nothing happened.

Forget the Facts
Duke's president has a history of allowing public relations to trump principle.
Another Mangum in the news:

I am not sure how helpful this type of article is since there is no obvious connection to the Duke case. We shoul dbe careful not to engage in the same questionable tactics as Nifong, i.e., piling up questionable circumstantial evidence about the character of those involved.
Even if a hair exists I'm not sure what it would prove. She had just had sex an hour earlier. She was in strange positions and sitting on the floor of a house where lots of men hung out. So a hair stuck to her bottom. Big deal.
The level of evidence in this case is ridiculous. Kobe had blood on his shirt and people still didn't think he popped her. If she had a hair on her thigh and the DA proposed that was evidence of rape he would have been laughed at.
>the DA has received "GOOD NEWS".
"Good news" seems as an odd choice of words by Nifong.
In a case of alleged rape, it seems that "good news" would be that no rape occured, such that there was no victim and no wrongdoers.
Nifong presumably is suggesting that he has news that strengthens his case. Any strengthening of his case would seem to be "good news" only if it is a given that a rape occured. Here, that is far from a given.
CGM came walking around the corner?
Around what corner?
Wasn't her "driver" flagged down by a LAX player in front of the house?
"The AV just happened to be the purest stripper ever on earth and she was new to the whole thing."
Nope, can't ask us to believe that because her parents are already on record saying that CGM was an exotic dancer before:
"Mary and Travis also told "48 Hours" that even though their daughter is afraid to leave her house, she is trying to keep up with her course work in college by taking classes online. They said their daughter was trying to make a better life for herself and her children before the alleged incident.
They also said they had no idea their daughter returned to exotic dancing just a couple of months before the incident to make money for college."

CGM "returned" to exotic dancing. So, Dad's line about not knowing what CGM was doing is also bogus.
What "questionable tactics" are you ascribing to me? The article concerned a victim named Mangum, not a suspect. My point was simply to point out the prevalence of Mangums in the area.
