1. I disagree with your first sentence. I think a hair might be be washed away in a shower, but the maybe not. Maybe if you had many such hairs on you, maybe not all of them would be washed away. Hairs are everywhere. I run into them in various places and I hate to think about it even in food at my house and when eating out sometimes. I know this was said to be a pubic hair, but if your work takes you around pubic hair daily, hourly then I would not be surprised to find one or some on the parts you regularly put in contact with pubic hair even after a shower.
2. I certainly agree with your second point. We have no reason to believe anything Brian Taylor says unless it is against his own interest.
