WASHINGTON, May 31 After vowing to steer a greater share of antiterrorism money to the highest-risk communities, Department of Homeland Security officials on Wednesday announced 2006 grants that slashed money for New York and Washington 40 percent, while other cities including Omaha and Louisville, Ky., got a surge of new dollars.
Homeland security officials said the grants were a result of a more sophisticated evaluation process

ANYTHING is possible LJ, but one thing we both know is this guy should not have been drinking heavily, especially out of the house. Then you should go find him and tell him that so he will stop.

That's a given. He has no excuse for that.
He was speeding, too, wasn't he? I don't know a lot of drunks, but if they drive at all, don't they usually drive slowly?

He seemed to be alone on the road. They drive slower and are usually attracted to the taillights of other cars in front of them.
We don't know what else was in his system, we only know they tested for booze.
He could have been on a few things and we'd never know unless he left them in view on the seat of his car.
Could have been worse than we know.

How to give a cat a pill. I suppose I could write up something about the preferred method of giving mouth to mouth resuscitation to a rattlesnake ... with rabies.

Fluffernutters are not daily food for me. They're an occasional craving - and then they're a treat. Try one; you may enjoy them on occasion, too.

I am close enough to find him if I wanted to, but I can't be chasing down all drunks on the road.
Just seems common sense to me that if you are going to get high on alcohol, at least do it home and have the other parent with the kids elsewhere so the kids aren't affected either.
As big as his estate must be, I would think there is a wing to himself to go get loaded in.
I don't like drunks on the road, had one of those break my neck for me when I was 19.

That's why I think Lady Jag is fibbing about them being her major food group. Where did I say that? You said you had them for breadfast everyday. I only said I like them!

Mel Gibson is a human being. As such, he makes mistakes in judgement, just like the rest of us do. We don't "own" him, no matter how famous he is, and he doesn't have to conform to anyone's standards but his own. And why should he be forced into confinement when he wants to drink? Wouldn't it make make more sense to have a designated driver? And for that matter, it's no one's business but his, unless his driving injures or kills someone. One doesn't have to be hit by a drunk driver to have injuries. I can tell you that from my own personal experience.
Since it's over and done with, all the speculation in the world won't change the fact: Mel Gibson made a mistake in judgement. So what?
