Today's protest was purportedly designed by organizers to demonstrate the economic impact of a day without immigrants. Certainly, here in LA there were massive protests, but trade continued at a fairly brisk pace from my observations. BONUS: The freeways had the lightest traffic in years.
I'm a broke student, but I managed my $105 for the day. Splurged a little at the grocery store, truth be told.
I spent about $600 on office equipment (scanner, new shredder, printer cartridges, other supplies) I've needed for awhile but never got around to buying, or just stocking up on things. Then I bought two pairs of shoes. Hey, I'm a girl!; shoes are essential.
Probably by a bunch of illegals.
Doing the work that the other illegals wouldn't do.
A little over 90...groceries at Walmart (muahahahaha) and then a pair of jeans at the Levi's store.
Unfortunately, I think the jeans were made in Columbia.
I did my share but the stores were as full as ever and a lot of them were hispanic.
FReeper son Skywalk spent almost $300 on tires.
I paid about $200 in bills - does that count? : )
Good on you.
My kids made out like a bandits today. Breakfast and dinner out with Dad. A couple toys they don't need and new sleeping bags for a planned camping expedition (to the back yard). I made up a list of stuff last week that I could justify buying and have been saving today.
I wanna slap Bush every time I hear him tell that lie.
Well, I didn't buy anything today, but I bought a Samson Condensor Microphone yesterday - and I marked May 1st by spending a couple of hours playing Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter on my X-Box 360 which, given that the campaign is set in Mexico, was a particular pleasure.
I went out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which I don't usually do, gassed up my car, which I could have done yesterday, and did my grocery shopping, which I'd usually do later in the week. Oh, yeah, I did everything I could to show my support for the boycott. :=)
Spent about $100 and got tired. The wife did much better then I did. I think she spent several hundred after work. To tell the truth, my anger against the illegals was too much to be out long. I am not going to jail for anger or violence.
My wife and I went out and first had dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. They were open and not showing support for this madness.
Next, we stopped at one store where we spent $65 for merchandise and stopped at another where we spent $75 for even more merchandise.
Dinner was $25
That protest thing by the illegal aliens was today?
Hmm.
Fortunately, I am nowhere near any parasite nest (city) so I kinda forgot about it.
I suppose I made the usual daily expenditures, though - - lunch, gas, cigs, ammo....
By the way, what day does sinko duh my-oh fall on this year?
I'm not telling. Gramps will find out and I'll be in BIG trouble.
:)
HA! I was wondering how many people thought about that. We bought a "John Deere" from Lowe's - $2,482.92 with tax. I also talked my father-in-law into waiting until Monday to purchase his "shifter cart" (???) which he said cost several thousand dollars.
I'm broke, but I was able to scrounge up around $60 to spend.
I went out for two meals and gassed up the car.
Friday. This Friday.
