AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1919) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | April 24, 2006 | All of Us

Posted on 04/24/2006 4:55:31 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

I'm back. Nice, quiet time along the beach, but way too short. Kids were picked up from the airport last night, and they look like they've been to Florida, complete with the requisite sunburn (not too bad, either of them).

In the news...

The Evil One is promising a long war with the United States and has, in his latest video tape, promised to make war upon civilians. He has also called upon his supporters to combat the UN "peacekeeping" force located in the Sudan.

The Evil One's logic for attacking civilians is that the civilians are supporting their governments' new Crusades upon the Mid-East.

Oil prices are easing back from their recent highs of $75/bbl.

Meanwhile, both Senate Majority Leader Frist and Speaker Hastert are engaging in a major cover thy six and blame someone else because it wasn't my fault game. Both leaders are blasting the President for not doing enough about high gasoline prices--well, Congress, where's the drilling in ANWR? Where's the additional refining capacity allowance?

And the daughter of the founder of Earth Day says gas prices are not nearly high enough (she doesn't say what "high enough" is).

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

What possible reason could they have for THIS invasion of our lives?

The way that the GOP can turn this to their advantage,

The Pubbies are afraid to pull this one out into the sunshine because THEY are in control and they don't have the votes in their caucus to pass it.

In short, they are concerned the issue will be used against their own members who will not support ANWR causing the Pubbies to loose control.

Hey there! know you are anxious to hear from Ev.. and it is in a way a LITTLE warm fuzzy to know that along the way Katie hasn't had a dozen calls so far!!!

You might have enjoyed being with me last night Mozie. Severance Hall (Cleveland's Carnegie Hall for those not knowing). Included Stravinsky's RIte of Spring; Debussy Afternoon of A Fawn & a world premier by local composer Steven Smith. Piece called Tane Mahuta & it is about the three stages of life of a New Zealand tree (oldest of which is about 2100 years old)

Need to leave for day shortly..

Thinking of you Bev....

I'll be in real trouble. I drive a riding lawn mower my dad bought circa 1984. I drove it when I was a kid cutting my dad's grass and now I'm on it every weekend from April to October cutting my grass.

It runs great, but every time I crank it bits of the ozone layer crack off and fall out of the sky, and yesterday I think I saw a squirrel gag and choke and drop dead as I drove past. ;-)

They could help themselves tremendously by passing legislation to remove the 18.4 cents in federal taxes and also force the states to follow suit by threatening to withhold any matching federal highway funds. And if the dems filibuster it in the Senate so be it. I'm sure the funds are already earmarked and a temporary tax cut won't amount to a hill of beans, though the democrats will cry foul, but that's all the better. Make it effective June 1st and expire November 1st. Take NY for instance, the highest gas taxed state. Federal and state gas taxes are over 60 cents a gallon. Maybe I'm nuts, but 60 cents a gallon is 60 cents a gallon.

Morning Mozie :)

FWIW, I just heard Todd Beamer's dad interviewed on Fox and Friends....

..Bless his heart, he is well spoken and sincere, and hopes folks will go see the movie, because he can affirm the director tried very hard to get it right!

But my disappointment is in Steve and E D, who said they will not go see it.

They influence a lot of folk in TVLand, and to say this ...immediately after having the dad on.....just made me very sad!

What a slap in the face to the dad.

I mean, good mercy, if Todd Beamer's dad can sit through this.....SURELY we all can support it!!!!

I sent them an email.

Mr.Beamer wants us to never forget, and to remember who the enemy is!

How can we not support this!

LOL! I don 't do lawn mowers but I do use weed eaters and chain saws, both 2-stroke engines. Pull that cord! get 'er going! It's been too cold for too long around here anyway.

Why will they not go see it? Did they say?

If this gentleman thinks they got it right..................and he should know, shouldn't he???? - then that should be good enough for anyone!

I am not going to see it.

I have haunted and vivid dreams for many months after seeing films with horror in them. Many times I wake up literally screaming and trembling. I honestly don't know how Mr. Beamer can watch something like that; perhaps it is a catharsis for him. For me it would multiply the pain. I don't think I could get back on a plane if watched that film.

I do remember that plane of heroes. It is on my mind and in my heart always. I don't need a visual reminder.

GOOD A.M. TO YOU MOST HONORABLE CHAIR, ALL, FROM THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST, USA, BRUISED BUT NOT BROKEN!!!! WELL, BENT A LOT BUT NOT BROKEN!!!!

The kids took me on a tour yesterday from Waveland, Bay St. Louis to Ocean Springs, my first drive by. Never in my wildest dreams did I think there was so much destruction done by the hurricane. from the beach drive inland for several blocks is nothing, no houses, ruined trees. piled up cars, trucks, boats, unbelievable. The clean up has mostly been completed but the bigger buildings are being torn down as we speak. Never in my life have I seen so much and so powerful a hurricane can be.

Now, the problem. Insurance companies, not paying off the claims, fighting them, blaming it on water, with State Farm catching most of the heat. The agencies (all of them) who have sold the insurance has told folks that they did NOT need flood insurance if the elevation was so and so, well, now I guess they are saying 'ahhhh, I was only kidding'. It is bad and here is the clincher, insurance in certain areas has gone up 95% with some hitting 100%. Needless to say there are some big law suits going on and the guy who brought the tobacco, David Sruggs is taking the companies on and by the way, he is Sen. Trent Lott's brother in law. Bad, bad, bad situation down here.

Contractors... Many have closed up and have gone home, some out of business, everything being held up for the constructjon because no one could come up with a mandated flood plain. They have, the INTERNATION flood plain. But....the boom is getting ready to start, Lowe's and Home Depot and even 84 Lumber are building new stores like mad. Already there has been 37,000 building permits applied for but nothing has been done because no one knew the height of the flood plain and this number is a drop in the bucket for what is to come.

The Casinos are coming back quickly with most opening by Sept, at least they are shooting for. You should see the plans for Condo's, unbelievable. One has 389 units, others in the 200 unit places and a whole bunch of 100 unit ones.

Traffic...Don't go anywhere between 7 A.M. to 9 A.M and 3 to 6 P.M. you get in grid lock here is our little part or the world.

Here is a good one for you, McDonald only recently started selling CHEESE BURGERS which we all know is a piece of cheese on the meat. They, along with others fast food joints are giving sign up bonuses, paying 8, 9 dollars an hour and they can't find folks to work. Yep, lots of Spanish speaking folks over the grill and I bet if you went into one and yelled IRS the place would have to close.
They tell one joke that one of the men went to the Alamo to fight 'way back when' said 'wonder why all those roofers are out there'. BUT, the work is getting done, too many citizens are living off the governments, that is the honest truth. Facts are facts, that is just he way it is.

FEMA slowly but surely is getting their act together, well, kinda. Sure are a lot of folks that have FEMA trailers and no one living in the, can't get them to pick them up when they are vacant. BIG abuse with the folks getting stuff that are not qualified and talk openly about it, bragging like getting a trophy deer. This is one area that really needs cleaning up, get things together.

And to all the young people from the fvarious churches across this wonderful land, engough 'THANK YOU' can be said, you have shown the world that the love of God and country is important to you and when you get back home you will have stories to tell, many of them.

Sorry I have gone on and on but am in just one of those moods this morning. I just wanted to give you a first hand look at what we face down here and Hurricane season is just around the corner, I hope we or anyone else will have to go thru what we just we had.

THANK YOU USA!!! THANK YOU YOUNG PEOPLE, THANK YOU MILITARY, THANK YOU LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS, FIREMEN, WE owe you more than you will ever know.
TOBY

It's been too cold for too long around here anyway.

Spring hit here about two or three weeks ago. My wife told me on a Sunday that Spring weather was supposed to roll in on Wedensday. I replied that Summer would be here on Thursday. Summer hit on Friday, so I was close. We've already had high 80s several days (I broke a sweat just now walking about two blocks).

The weed eater is actual work (the riding lawn mower is just right for naps and lemonade), so I haven't gotten that out yet. Prolly this weekend I'll be waking up the neighbors with the whining weed eater. Vrrrm vrrrm!

Dearest family and friends....The angels came for my little Mother at 7:40 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2006. She was 95 years, 9 months and 23 days old. She is now in Heaven - no more wheel chair for her!

I sent pictures of her taken in 1970 and one taken last October. Dolly will post them for me so you all can see just how lovely she is.

Thank you all for your love and prayers....Bev
