The victim, a single mom who turned to exotic dancing to support her two kids, attends North Carolina Central University, a mostly black college in Durham.
She plans to keep a low profile until the students go on trial to avoid inflaming tensions in the black community, where opinion is running heavily against the privileged students.
One of the most hurtful things for the woman about the media circus surrounding the case, the cousin said, is the tendency to assume the worst about her because she is a stripper.
"She's a victim and she's a human being," the cousin said. "Her occupation couldn't justify that a crime like this was committed."

i had thought about it and concluded that i'd be suspect since I think women drawn to such fields have some 'issues' regarding men. Not all, but many.
I am a middle-aged divorced Christian man, Fairly or unfairly, I choose not to date women who want to or have recetly gone into 'women's ministry' or who have become "therapists".
and hired a stripper!--Guess every guy who ever has a bachelor party desrves to be charged with rape.
You can be minding you own business and get falsely accused of something just as easily. There are daily threads on FR about situations like that.
How many cases do you know of where a team invites a stripper to a party and she cries rape? It's not that is an expected outcome.
Only that jobs that paid pretty well with benefits that lower IQ people could do are mostly gone now where I live anyway. That was my only point.
I know how it goes: I'm a grandma, and making my 4th career change.
"Anyone hear Jesse Jackson talking about how white men have a fantasy about black women, which goes back to slave days? "
It's kind of sad for the black women of the world, but even black men don't seem to want (or at least marry) black women. The vast majority of black women can't find husbands.
You often see white women with black men, but almost never see the reverse.
I'm not saying this to be mean. Like I said, it's sad.
I don't know the square footage, but if even half of the frat was in the room where the show was taking place it was crowded. I don't exactly know what Kim was doing either, but I am skeptical about her statements also because she has said contradictory things.
I'm watching my computer, cubicle bound, waiting for your report.
LOL
I'm almost inclined to think that this was a "planned" episode...playoff time for the stripper. This wasn't a "low class" group she usually performs....these were the little rich kids.
Who was the "dude" who hired her and who recommended her etc.
I believe she was with a girlfriend at this party. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I don't even know what channel he's on. LOL
How about an update?
I can't give you a transcript on the Abrams show, but what I found interesting was the discussion on the search warrant. Norm (?-the black guy - I think) noted that the PC part of the search warrant was a rehash of the stripper's story.
Go look at it and it's like a cut and paste from the warrant used to search the email guy's room.
I find this interesting because the names, Adam, Bret, and Matt, are unchanged and it was the team captain (Flannery) who said that HE used an alias to make the reservation.
How does this get to probable cause to search Finnerty's room? Who was he? Adam, Bret, or Matt?
While pandering to the black extremists for their votes, he has most certainly lost the vote of a vast majority of the white vote. Not because he is black, but because he is incompetent.
' The victim, a single mom who turned to exotic dancing to support her two kids, .."
Last night, Kimberly Guilfoyle excitedly defended " the victim " by saying we should not forget that she was " a Navy vet who served her country."
Guess Mz Guilfoyle has never heard of the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Ft Leavenworth and various Naval Brigs. They are populated with members of the military who have served their country.
The screaming mimi women analysts on the cables are unbelievable in their blind support of the AV.
Wendy Murphy hissed last night, that all the players had " taken the Fifth."
Susan Filan continues to say that all the exculpatory evidence is irrelevant.
On Abrams show yesterday, when the timeline was reduced to 7 minutes-Filan said that was a completely plausible time frame for 3 men to complete a three way violent sex crime ,assault, robbery and kidnapping.
With a clawing , screaming, fighting victim in a tiny bathroom.
When confronted with Nifong saying the attackers may have worn long sleeved shirts or jackets and then shown one of the photos with Reade in a short sleeved t shirt-Filan said that Reade may have put on a jacket for the rape.
anyone seen this... might be a fake...but funny none the less http://www.gambling911.com/042006Inews.html
Duke Lacrosse Scandal: Second dancer contacts media firm
A Manhattan media firm received an unusual email Wednesday from a woman claiming to be the second dancer cited in an alleged "rape scandal" surrounding the Duke University Lacrosse team.
The following email was received by 5W Public Relations. This individual claims to be the 2nd dancer in the Duke Scandal and was sent to Sports911.com courtesy of Ronn Torossian, CEO of 5W Public Relations
The authenticity of this email has not yet been verified by the PR firm. At the very least there is someone out there impersonating the second dancer involved in this scandal.
..from all accounts I've heard, many were quite vicious when this first happened.
IF she is actually using that word, and if the guys are acquitted or charges are dropped, I'd sue this woman for defamation of character and slander.
Someone in the know should forward this to interested parties. The guys' parents are wealthy enough to make an example out of this frothing Murphy character, and she spends too much time racking up free dinners for appearing on TV to have a ton of money to waste defending her conduct in court.
This chick has a history....and just being a stripper when you have two little kids is not the best of career choices. It just lets her escape taxes and do her own thing. For the children???? I don't think so!!
I have a feeling that some web info is going to trip her up.
I didn't hear anything new on Abrams. Dan reflected our wonderment that the searches followed the arrests, instead of the opposite. Finnerty's lawyer in a brief clip indicated he had a chance to speak to Nifong before the arrest, but didn't get anywhere with him. Susan is still in the group that thinks Nifong has more than he's showing.
