The photos can't be unduly suggestive, and the cop running the line-up must not know if the suspect is in the array. If they're all lax players in the photo array, and it was known that everyone at the party were Duke lax players, then the cop knew the suspect was in the array - had to be. Each array is supposed to present sequential photos of similar looking guys.

I never said I believe her. I said the hospital said her injuries were consistent with rape. It isn't my opinion, it's what was reported.

How have all the players been dragged through the mud? They voluntarily gave DNA samples, only two have been charged, and those that weren't at the party don't have anything to worry about. Unfortunately, the coach lost his job and the season was cancelled. I only hope some good can come out of this. Maybe athletes can learn to behave like gentlemen, although I know that is a lot to ask.

Extreme irony that Duke Women's LAX Team is #1 and the apparel is unisex. Hard to stop selling logo paraphernalia for a #1 team!!! Love'n it!

They're young, and they used poor judgment. They're young. They're also top students and top athletes.

Youth may be a reason why they acted so poorly, but its not an excuse.

And men get murdered in far greater amounts than women get raped. Years ago tried to get "female" attention to the plight of men, some in on very interesting charges, like "failure to pay child custody support", who were being raped in the prisons. No attention would be given. Not by MSM, not by those who claim to care most about "people".

You are sadly and probably willfully misinformed about the treatment of the team. An infamous "mug shot" flyer of the entire team has been distributed on campus and even printed on the front page of the Raleigh N&O (don't know about the Durham H-S) implying that they are all rapists. They have all been accused and threatened with prosecution by the DA as accessories for "aiding and abetting" the rape that the DA just "knows" took place. The only reason they "voluntarily" submitted to DNA testing is that the DA threatened them all with a court order. They have all been berated by women in the national media with that old canard "be a man" because they haven't come forward about the rape that the commentator just "knows" occurred. (Kimberly G. looks like "she" knows from prior personal experience what it's like to "be a man". But I digress.) Crimestoppers in Durham has been credulously repeating the rape story about the lax team and spreading it all over town. Seniors not even involved in the night's events have had their job offers revoked. Team members on campus have been spit on and refused service in campus dining halls. Team members have been harassed by faculty in the class in front of the other students and publically excoriated by faculty in the newspaper. The coach has been fired and the entire season canceled by a gutless university administration that assumes that they are guilty. I could go on and on but it you didn't get it before my remarks, you won't get it now.

As it now appears, the only two have been charged (in your dismissive phrase) were not even at the house at the time events occurred. They've lost an entire semester's work and tuition. One apparently wasn't even at the party and was behaving like a perfect gentleman in a cross-town restaurant. Even if they are cleared later, they will forever have the false rape charge on their records making them virtually unemployable at any level commensurate with their education and training.

What's clear to me is that you don't actually care about justice in this case. In your mind, since they looked at women "with lust in their hearts" (to borrow a phrase from Jimmy Carter), they are probably all guilty of some crime against women anyway so if they are falsely nailed for this well, ok then. You don't like them or their legal behavior so to hell with the law, any penalty they suffer can't possibly be enough.

More news this morning on WABC radio. The second stripper emailed a PR firm in NYC asking how to cash in on the fact that she's involved in the biggest story in the country.

That would immediately remove her from any aspect of this case.

Little by little the Nifong man is losing his case!

WOW - talk about putting a lot of words in someone's mouth! But if you feel better now after your little rant, then it was worth it!

I still think the players did not use common sense. For Duke being such a prestigious university, they have some not-very-bright students, looks like. Just makes me wonder what they were thinking. Oh well, boys will be boys I guess.

I think the cabbie already said he couldn't recognize them. That doesn't mean he won't magically remember, though, but he seems like a straight and honest guy SO FAR.

I put no words in your mouth but I did question your motives.

The post is a factual recounting of behavior of other people faced by the lax team in contradiction of your point of view that the entire team had not been dragged through the mud. I note you chose to not address them.
