The victim, a single mom who turned to exotic dancing to support her two kids, attends North Carolina Central University, a mostly black college in Durham.
She plans to keep a low profile until the students go on trial to avoid inflaming tensions in the black community, where opinion is running heavily against the privileged students.
One of the most hurtful things for the woman about the media circus surrounding the case, the cousin said, is the tendency to assume the worst about her because she is a stripper.
"She's a victim and she's a human being," the cousin said. "Her occupation couldn't justify that a crime like this was committed."

I'm with you there. I'm sickened by how quickly the media has been to judge these young men as rapists without knowing any of the facts of the case, but criminals of other color get a pass daily for worse crimes. These young men need to be investigated, in case some did attack her, but to simply assume that they were capable of rape, it's stomach turning. College kids do stupid things, but this?
My hunch is she showed up wasted, gave them a lame "show", or more likely skipped the "show" and went right to soliciting sex, got stiffed on the fee by the guys, and this is her payback. There is no fury like a black woman scorned, I know, I dated one. Lovely woman, but piss her off - move out of the state, now.
If these kids are found guilty, I say disbarr and punish this D.A. I doubt it will happen, but one can hope. Regardless of the outcome, this case has made a mockery of this D.A.'s office, and they should be removed. This is not justice, this is a circus.

On O'Reilly it was also mentioned that most of the players had short sleeves and thus DNA should have been under the fingernails. Seemed at least some fiber evidence also if she fought them off the way the DA claims she did.

However, according to attorneys for both indicted players, they never came near CM.
She didn't have to. She was "debased" and "exploited" in a cruel manner by men, who "objectified" and "oppressed" her all the while she was taking off her clothes in a completely voluntary way for her own financial gain. And besides, they were "rich" and "white", so she needs even more money. And a scholarship.
What's with that, by the way? In what sense is being stupid enough to take off your clothes in front of drunk college boys so smart that you are a "scholar"?
Show me some stats re: the lax teams vs. the student population as a whole with regard to "boorishness," and that might matter some tiny bit. The "boorishness" I've read about includes such capital offenses as public urination and disorderly conduct.
The fact is that every university has an uncomfortable relationship between the oh-so-enlightened faculty (and their indoctrinees) and the jocks. The fact that these kids were part of a easily identified group doesn't mean their behavior is any more "boorish" than that of the general student population.

He went and pulled the file from Georgetown; he didn't describe it like that at all; evidently there was shoving between two groups, Collin through a punch and somebody screamed "gay bashing."
But Bernie described it as "just calling each other gay, like kids do in high school."
He was NOT convicted.
Of course, he will be now.
No one is saying that anymore than because she was a stripper she deserves to be raped. But both put themselves in dangerous situations. Strippers are at high risk for rape and murder. It is not rich, but that this cold comfort when you are dead or hurt from sexual assault. Similarly, whether someone, particular those with a lot to lose, bring shady people into their world such as strippers or escorts, they put themselves at risk of being the victim of a con scheme or violence. What is happening is not fair, but acknowinging that fact won't put their lives back to the way they were.
I'd put up the arrest charged of any dorm floor or fraternity at any major university against the charges of these guys. I'll bet they don't differ in the least, and the dorm floor would probably be worse.
Does getting busted out of the Navy because she got pregnant while in a submarine make her a good mother?

The other guy on O'Reilly said the reason that lawyers were telling the team members to not talk to police was that the DA was trying to coach her on which ones were there when she was there. As a result it looks like one of the guys who she fingered, probably wasn't at the party when she was there.
I wonder if some of the team could sue her for slander (after all their matriculation at Duke is probably over), and name the DA as a co-defendant, get access to his campaign emails and letters, and prove it's all political...

Someone right here in River City (Freeper) told me on her Probation Record she had a possession/use of illegal substance, dated May (or Mar) 2005.
Apparently she got probation for that charge.
The Drug/Alcohol (substance abuse)charges are kept very private ... Notice how WRAL reported 3 license suspensions.. but there is no info out there (anywhere, I think) on why and when.
I asked the individual to double check and he did and told me .. it was from her Probation info.
