We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Last week, this space wrote about illegal immigration, and it's time, based on the events in Los Angeles, for a follow-up.
Yesterday we were treated to images of protests of hundreds of thousands against felonizing illegal immigrations (first question--it isn't a felony now?). The media made it look like these were spontaneous demonstrations, but, with the exception of crowd size, they are not. They are part of an orchestrated effort against immigration reform that is meant to go on for another couple of weeks and is being fometed by, among other parties, organized labor.
Indeed, the only element in the LA protests that was not planned was size; that did capture even organizers by size. But the message delivered to people was a lie: Congress wants to limit immigration is what folks were told. All right, it's partly a lie, which makes it good propaganda, and it did work quite well.
What folks apparently don't understand is the thing Congress wants to curb is ILLEGAL immigration. If you are here legally, or you want to come here legally, that's all cool, we're only focused on those that shouldn't have been here in the first place.
Moreover, this is a group of folks that, by virtue of the way they came here, have already shown a total disrespect for our laws. In fact, the demonstrations in Los Angeles support this contention. The activity continues, despite truency laws, despite laws prohibiting pedestrians on freeways, and so on.
Real simple--are these the type of folks we want to have on a permanent basis?
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Yes, it will be MUCH cooler.:)
What exactly is "mucking"?
If not you'll have to tell me tomorrow because I have a bad headache and I'm going to call it a night.
A federal appeals court ruled Tuesday that Rep. Jim McDermott violated federal law by turning over an illegally taped telephone call to reporters nearly a decade ago. In a 2-1 opinion, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia upheld a lower court ruling that McDermott violated the rights of Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, who was heard on the 1996 call involving then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Ga

I cranked up my hearing aids when I heard the songs of the robins outside the window. So pretty!!
I have so many that there is no way I can display all I would like to. I am having my Police badge framed, both my detective and Chiefs badges and my first ID card as a policeman.

You are basically right. The stalls have a base cover of sawdust. To muck it out, we go in with shovels and a type of rake/pitchfork and lift all the refuse off the sawdust. Any sawdust that has been contaminated, we also have to scoop out. Often then you just rake over with the remaining clean sawdust.
But yesterday, there was so little clean sawdust left that we had to go into the sawdust resevoir and take about two wheelbarrows full per stall. There are 11 stalls! The youngest placed her muck into a wheelbarrow which when full she emptied into the "spreader". But I placed mine directly into the spreader. With my back, I no longer lift and empty wheelbarrows. The spreader was attached to a small yard tractor. I then drove it to a portion of the yard and spread the manure all over the field. Very good fertilizer.
In addition to mucking out, we also emptied and refilled the water buckets (13), dropped hay, and took a blower and blew the excess straw out of the barn.
Since it is spring break, there were no extra volunteers. The youngest and I did it all. Usually we don't have to work so hard.
Dolly,Tomorrow is supposed to be rocky weather-wise....been meaning to tell you...April is "iffy" for me for a get-together...May would be easier, but I understand that my schedule is only one of several to be considered...
lysie, excellent: your MIL's name on the waiting list.
