As so often happens, you eloquently say what I've been thinking! I still can't figure out why Simon has been pushing his "little minx" so much. He knows better. The only possible reason I can see is that he has dollar signs stuck firmly in his eyes.

I think the Simons (Cowell, Lythgoe & Co.) are driven only by money, so you may be on to something there. Maybe they think there's room for another Leann Rimes-type clone in country music immediately following Carrie. After all, Country music has tended to favor pretty blondes with pretty, if often soulless singing styles.
Yes, and the American people voted Clinton into office twice. It wouldn't be the first time the American people were wrong.
When I first saw Taylor on the stage I laughed myself silly. Talent? He can't dance and he can't sing. The other eleven all have far more talent and potential than he does.
Mandisa, Paris, Lisa, Catherine, Kelly and Chris are exceptional and sound like real pros. Elliot, Ace and Bucky have potential but could use singing lessons.
Taylor has no talent what so ever. His appeal is all visual and it's those cheer leading moves he initiates over and over again.
That the American people voted for his dreadful performance FIRST over Catherine, Kelly and Chris's stellar performances speaks volumes. Because he is the best liked, doesn't mean he is the best or even at all talented.
Of course we missed you!!
You are right about Mandisa, she just wasn't good Tuesday and they can't afford many "off nights" this far into the competition. I was sad to see her go, though.
I am so with you on Paris. I had my fingers crossed it would be her.
ok so now you're comparing votes for Taylor to votes for Clinton...this argument is going nowhere and as one of the earlier posters said, lets just agree to disagree....you have your thoughts (very much in the minority on this threat I might add) and I have mine and neither of us will ever agree....I will continue to vote for Taylor - I happen to like him, will vote for him, and will buy a CD of his once he's put one out....and with that I say, goodnite - I'm out of here till next week...
I don't know what it is about Paris but that little girl voice of her's just gets to me....and then of course, having Randy drool all over her about her granny and her great talent just makes me sick! I'm rooting for Taylor and I have to tell you I'm probably one of the few that doesn't think Pickles is all that bad....that little girl will probably go far in the country scene!
Taylor is not as bad as you have portrayed him but he's not as good as his fans here make him out to be either.
Mandisa was probably the 2nd or 3rd best of the night. her OUTFIT got voted off -- she just happened to inhabit it (no joke). No way will there ever be a female Ruben -- Queen Latifa is the only large woman I can think of who can pull it off. No offense, ladies -- it is the way of the world.
Mandisa doesn't appeal to the NASCAR demographic and given the popularity of Bar Room Bucky and Pickler that's a tough segment to overcome.
You argued Taylor MUST be talented because so many people like him and I suggested the American people can be mistaken and have been before.
"(very much in the minority on this threat I might add)'
I don't base my opinion on what the majority think. I never have and never will. The fact that the majority can be wrong, is the main reason we are a Republic and not a pure Democracy.
Yes, we will have to agree to disagree. I can live quite amicably with that one if you can. : )
Now that talent is no longer an issue (that is usually the case at this point in the competition), I think the next to go are Paris, Bucky and Elliot.
Pickles (Carrie Lite), Taylor and Chris are destined to be the top 3.
Comparatively speaking, for the position he's in now, he's bad.
I personally like Catherine. But if we were considering talent alone, there are three remaining who are as talented as she.
I think your prediction about which three will be the last is probably correct.
Probably if Kellie just shut her mouth and dropped the bumpkin act I wouldn't dislike her as much as I do. She was pretty good the other night.
I don't really disagree with you. I wouldn't put her in the top 3 Tuesday night, though. She would be great in "Chicago" playing Matron Mama Morton. It would have been a hoot to hear her sing "When You're Good To Mama" if AI has showtunes night again.
Oh, boy...TAdams...I'd never want to get in a butt-kicking contest with you...the little gal who took on the Philly labor union goons!!
Of course, BamaDi can also get pretty feisty when standing by her man!!
;) ;) ;)
