Already has. By everyone speculating that he was sick this week. By this time next week, he will probably be on the mend from cholera, smallpox, and Tourette's.
I received this information from a Fox affiliate. I asked them for clarification on a story I heard. This is what was told to me:
". . .he did pick a hank williams, jr. song...but...idol couldn't or didn't get it approved...don't know details. . . ."
and this
"Then we found out from his brother that it was not the song he was going to perform. He had practiced another song for two or three days and they came to him with the bad news that they could not get that song approved, so he had to choose a song very fast, one that he was familiar with, one that was very short, and that the band could arrange in a very short time and to me, when I heard that, it explained everything because I was quite puzzled with his song choice."
Followed by this:
Simon said it looked like he had not practiced the song and had just decided to sing it. Well now we know the song was not Taylor's first choice and he was not able to practice it much. Simon had knowledge of this and tried to used it against Taylor.
You know the adage. The only bad publicity is no publicity.
Interesting stuff. I hope Taylor kicks butt next week. At this point he's overdue. :)
I love his new song....it's in the Billboard Top 40....first one in quite a while....did ya'll miss me last night? went out for pizza and beer with brother and friend...got home with seconds to spare to watch....and then they wouldn't leave - wanted "one more beer" ergo I didn't get to watch it with you guys. I liked Mandisa but thought she stunk the other night and was glad she went...though you guys know that it was PARIS i would have PAID to see leave!

I hate the Sarah Beth song..It's so manipulative...and stupid...sorry.
I love that song....especially because it was played a lot during the annual fund raiser for St Jude's here on KSJ (in Mobile)....I've always donated and this year, everytime they played the song, the calls came in faster! (As an aside, it wasn't even supposed to be released as a single but the demand for it was so great, and so many radio stations were playing it, that Rascal Flatts decided to release it....and the video really brings tears to my eyes....
ok Jonny, do I kick TAdams butt or do you....Taylor is great!!!! Let me repeat, Taylor is great - though he does suck at his choice of country songs. How anyone from Alabama could confuse good country music with John Denver is beyond me!
This stopped being a musical competition a while ago. She really did well with the camera when she was in her element.
Both points are quite true.
Mandisa's worst perfomance was a hundred times better than Taylor's best. If raising your fist, laughing with your mouth open, clapping and cheering over and over again is talent, than Taylor has it in spades. Otherwise, he's got NOTHING.
EG did you notice Taylor's grandmother in the audience last night? Every week she has viewing parties in Gulf Shores - either at LuLu's (Jimmy Buffet's sister's place) or some other local hangout....but last night she was actually in LA - she's really really proud of Taylor!
LOL, I'd like to kick some butt. I'd like to kick Taylor's butt right outta there. He shoulda been gone long ago. About six of those people have extraordinary talent. Taylor, isn't in the same league. Not even close.
That people would choose him, a guy who can't sing and can't dance over people who CAN truly sing and move well on the stage, is a travesty. I have to wonder whether people are capable of judging REAL talent in this country anymore.
goodness, i just chocked on my wine....taylor has talent - and in fact, ever since this season's AI started all i've played on my cd player has been michael mcdonald....that's talent....and taylor's not far behind...and I know, your education is in music but so what....people like what they like and obviously plenty folks like taylor as he continues to get enough votes to remain in the top!
