A new thread, and another song:
O Victim of Love
Tune:
http://www.contemplator.com/sea/sladies.html
O Victim of Love, sent here by the Father,
O Victim of Love, who chose to give all,
O Thou Saving Victim who purchased our freedom,
Who calls me to follow - may I answer your call.
O Jesus I watched in the Garden of Olives,
As you wrestled with grief so hard and so deep,
You cried out in anguish your yes to the Father,
You sweat tears of blood while your men were asleep.
Was any night darker than the night in the Garden
As you cried out and waited for what was to be?
And yet though you prayed in your grief and in anguish,
You stayed out of love and thus set us all free.
O Victim of Love, sent here by the Father,
O Victim of Love, who chose to give all,
O Thou Saving Victim who purchased our freedom,
Who calls me to follow - may I answer your call.
And when they came and took you on that last road,
And when they beat you and mocked you and lied,
Your love was a torch that shone out in the darkness
A beacon of hope as you suffered and died.
Beneath the cross where they thought they could kill you
You gave your best gift to the world full of sin,
The wellspring of heaven broke through in your last cry,
The waters of life through your death flooded in.
O Victim of Love, sent here by the Father,
O Victim of Love, who chose to give all,
O Thou Saving Victim who purchased our freedom,
Who calls me to follow - may I answer your call
Your yes has unlocked all the glories of Heaven,
Your yes has undone our first parent's no
In blood you have broken the shackles they wrought us
In death you have triumphed and defeated the foe.
O Victim of Love, sent here by the Father,
O Victim of Love, who chose to give all,
O Thou Saving Victim who purchased our freedom,
Who calls me to follow - may I answer your call.
Good Evening Ms Feather!
Thanks for the ping - I do enjoy it!
Ah, good evening to you. You're most welcome.
Thank you, Knitting for another song.
Nice music.
Tricky, tricky test. I did pretty well on it.
Night Sings amid the Saguaros
Through the sandstone arches blows the dry sigh of evening,
carrying the muted sounds of another desert night to me.
As I sit by the fire, smelling coffee cooking in the winds lee,
and sometimes Im counting stars and endlessly dreaming.
Stars arching overhead are a celestial curtain, even when some fall,
scribing flaring lines of fire across my mind, setting off possibilities.
From such do dreams come, and much of what our inner eye sees,
across the canvas of the ebon night amid crested saguaros tall.
As I play my mouth harp I see a scorpion, dancing on a near by rock,
neither retreating or advancing, it seems content to enjoy the music.
A companionable fellow to be sure and we both enjoy the riffs and licks,
though my singing sends him back towards Nevada, so I should talk.
There is clarity to the air on the High Desert like through a polished lens,
making the seemingly lifeless desert come alive, under the late autumn moon.
I sit here and soak it in, letting life go about its business, at its own tune,
and let go the binding ties of civilization, and the freeing feelings it sends.
Off in the distance, the coyote sings of life amid the hills around,
and I feel an echo in me, as if in a way Ive found my own way home.
So the heart will pull you, lead you, at the end of your need to roam,
and here you will find at last the one place you call holy ground.

Let Them Fall
Weep not child in the stygian dark,
for the dawn comes even for you,
and another day brings a chance for happiness.
Woman you sit silent and cry,
tears falling as you try to understand,
why this time he cant come home amid your sadness.
Old son, even men cry,
and feel the weight of sorrow,
in the midst of their deep bereavement and loneliness.
Tears are the eraser,
of the chalkboard of life and strife,
and leave the board ready for the colors of gladness.
Let Them Fall
I like this poem.
Night Sings amid the Saguaros
WOW a fabulous painting. So rich in imagery. Great work.
