OK,
I deleted Norton with Windows Add/Remove programs (though it says its in my Recycle bin....can it haunt me??)

I went into regedit and found no Norton references (though I found gobs of Symantec :::SPIT ON THEM:::)

My Windows Firewall is turned off at present because,
well, because ;)

..you know I forgot about XP's firewall. I still use 2000. At work it has to be disabled or the clients cannot get outside to the web.

Although I do enjoy my Legal Writing
One of the assignments is a case brief and even though they are lot of work I enjoy discovering the elements of the case and matching with the legal facts of issue

I did get a $50 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble and I am think of buying Shelby's Foote's Civil War trilogy and J.Gersham Machen's "Christanity and Liberalism"

Ok you also need to check under start>control panel>internet options>advanced
and scroll down the list an d make sure that your SSL options are checked. The firewall program may have disabled these.AWB

Okay. I know of cases when people using reg 1st aid said it worked so great it was almost like having a new computer.

I only know about them because I set up 3 new computers last year on XP. This MS firewall stuff is pretty foreign to me, I'm a retired UNIX admin.AWB
