Hehe, good job again, pcottraux. Thank you.

Is this the singles thread I was told about?
This is different from the singles thread, though a lot of us here are FRiends of mine from there. The singles thread is posted around 9:00 on Fridays, and usually lasts till about Sunday night. This is the thread for my political cartoons (FReeptoons, as I call 'em).

I just had a surprise.(and it was a GOOD day, for a change, until now)
I just learned that my former "Friend", of whom I have spoken here a number of times, Rodney, along with his wife Amy,were just charged with a scam to steal a woman's purse and use of her stolen credit card. (look in Middletown ohio Journal, under the story "husband and wife arrested for purse theft plot) It seems that Rodney made up a story that his son, Tyler, was missing, in order to gain access to a woman's house(after he had fixed her TV set earlier that evening), and his wife Amy stole the purse from the woman's car, as he went into the house, to use the phone to call the police.
Why does this bother me??
I have known Rodney for 21 + years. We were in our last 2 years of HS together. We have worked at many jobs together. and we have been "friends", for all of these years. Now, as I have said before, Rodney NEVER did anything for me, that would not benefit him in some way(and he stole from me last year), and he always made fun of me, to others, to build himself up, made fun of me for being alone, and so on.... But is still hurts, to know that a "friend" of mine is now being called a "scoundrel", by the Middletown police, along with his wife. It seems that Rodney will never learn. I have not had much contact with him in the last year and a-half, since the theft here at my house. bear in mind, I GAVE him a car, and Christmas money, in '03, when things were going pretty good for me financially, and he was hurting. I talked to him a few weeks ago, trying to coach him through a TV repair(possibly for THIS tv),and he was high at the time. I feel that I can no longer do anything for him. At the time of this event I was more than 600 miles from here. I only found out tonight, from a couple of other friends, that know me and Rodney. I really feel bad for Tyler, the 10 year old boy. Right at Christmas, and both of his parents have been arrested and his mom is STILL in jail....
I should had listened to Kim back in '86, when she tried to convince me that Rodney was trouble and to stay away from him. But alas, I didn't.. and have been hurt, by him, both directly and indirectly, ever since.

*Sigh*...it's always guys named "Rodney". I've known a few myself who were trouble.
I'm sorry to hear all that. Best of luck to you.

I am sorry to hear that :( The only thing worse than an enemy is a an enemy who pretends to be your friend.

I know it too. Only my aunt did this to me. Pretending to be sympathetic to us when we needed it. She stole several valubles including two emeralds that I got for my birthday and a gold nugget that belonged to my mother.

Ouch.
I don't think there's too much thievery in my family.
However, when my great grandmother died, we were in her will (she had quite a bit of money for us) but somehow my great aunt got away with stealing the entire will. We got nothing.

Wow, already at about 230 views. This may be the biggest response a FReeptoon's gotten in one night (at least since posting in general/chat). That's more than my last few had gotten altogether.
