AMERICA - The Right Way!! (WEEKEND EDITION: Days 1784 and 1785) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 9, 2005 | All of Us

Posted on 12/09/2005 5:16:19 PM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Well, climate change must be real after all. Heck, UOx42 said so at the Montreal conference on the subject, so it must be.

The GOP has launched ads where DemoncRATS, such as Howard Dean, are making anti-war remarks while having a white flag from time to time wave in front of their faces. Way cool!

Scientists have learned the Earth's north magnetic pole is moving rapidly from its spot and will likely move into Siberia in the next 50 years. (Obviously George Bush's fault.)

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Ugh. They'll never pass my lips! I've seen them in the frozen food section in grocery stores, and they looked like PlayDough carvings imo. lol

I once had a student who had relatives in the Appalachian mountains; she told me about ramps, and when I asked her what those were, she brought me some....Thank goodness, they were enclosed in a plastic bag! I like onions but those were TOO STRONG even to smell. lol

Hi Dolly. Enjoy your day!. We did exceedingly well last night. Our director, who also conducted the performance with the symphony, was very pleased, and we got standing Os, plus applause after the Hallelujah Chorus...

We were just thrilled.

No more performance with the symphony chorus...just my women's group for certain organizations' Christmas parties...a garden club, and so forth...

Bev, that is so cute: Miss Lily enjoying her .....corn dog??! Gosh that would give me super indigestion. Miss Lily is tough!!;lysie, hope you're feeling better today....No more **** plowing for a few days would be nice too...

Thanks for the heads up about the Narnia movie! But now you've caused me a dilemma: I desperately want to see Pride and Prejudice (which many have told me is wonderful), and now the Narnia movie, and have such limited opportunities right now to do to see either (with the crazy Christmas party schedule and travel) that I am just pining. And it's really a pathetic sight, ;)

Is there a support group for people who want to see movies but just can't get there (LOL!)?

My suggestion is to go see both at one night. 4+ hours.. If you can find one free night take them both in. Usually most theaters have a 7 oclock show & then a 9-10 2nd. The multiplexes make multi movies easy. they are both good.I saw Narnia in a pre screening about a week ago... Look forward to seeing it the second time w/church group on sunday. Pick up a few details I was a little fuzzy on.

OKay, NOW FOR SURE,,, walking away from this computer.

(maybe)

Of the two, I chose Pride and Prejudice. I've read both books and had no qualms about P&P, but I am planning on NOT seeing LW&W because I don't want some director messing with my own imagination of Narnia.

Thanks for your suggestions! It sounds like P&P is the first priority!

I have no doubt. Wish I could have been there.

Nope , no snowblowing for at least the weekend. I'm fine..really. It's great exercise and the fresh air is wonderful...plus...it's alone time....nobody comes looking for me.

I had my first corn dog a few months ago in honor of a Raymond episode when Debra decided to intrude on her mil....

Hilarious episode!

The men of that family had a short moment of pleasure eating them 'til...she came home.

LOL

When my husband and I were first married, I tried really hard to cook pinto beans and cornbread the way he liked them. I cured a cast iron skillet and get the cornbread done just right and crisp on the outside (no sugar...only Yankees like it that way!).

But I just couldn't get the pot of beans to taste "right"....used strip meat for seasoning too. After a few failures w/beans, I finally phoned my mother long distance to ask what I was doing wrong.

She asked, "Did you put a spoonful of sugar in them? THAT was the secret ingredient, and the next potful was a success!

A bit of sugar when cooking canned greenbeans (with bacon and onion of course) will make them taste more like fresh greenbeans. That's a tip I learned from MY mother-in-law!

I am taking a break fro working in the basement rec room. I have the Christmas village wired and operating, the patriotic tree up and decorated, and the boxes out for the rest of the decor.

I have to get off my feet every so often, however, because standing on concrete makes my knee hurt.

So, I thought I would check in and see what's going on. Our grandson is here visiting and he and Mr. Marple are playing NBA on the Playstation. Mr. Marple is losing, needless to say. Ha!

It is remarkable how much a tad of sugar can add to the flavor of both dried beans and canned beans.

I'm using a lot of sugar right now making chocolate fudge for my neighbors' Christmas presents, BUT I forgot to put in the vanilla flavoring in the last batch! Maybe I can mix some of the pieces in w/the flavored pieces. You think? LOL

I love to read your references and comments about Mr. Marple. He sounds like an all American regular guy. LOL

Yes,he is. He also puts up with all of my foibles, of which there are a great many. LOL!

By the way, there is an article on AOL that says Valerie Plame has resigned from the CIA. Is this news, or something being recycled?

I have had intermittent use of the computer the past week, and don't remember seeing anything about it.
