LET'S ROLL!!!
Good evening, folks!
Welcome to Free Republic and America - The Right Way!
John ~~~ prayers for your friend.
I served tham a wonderful vegetarian minestrone which always conservative gave me the recipe for, and it was a big hit! It made a LOT of soup, however, so I sent the rest home with them. My daughter is working on a large paper this weekend so I was able to give her a meal she could heat up, as well as feeding them tonight! Thanks, alwaysconservative!!
It is sure cold here (13 degrees right now). The radio said we would have a white Christmas, because the 7.7 inches of snow we have on the ground won't melt off before December 25.
I found two items of particular interest. 1.) The US has ended a limited arms embargo against Indonesia; and 2.) The US restored military training with Indonesia last year.
I am well aware of the challenges presented in Indonesia. But this country bears watching. It is the fourth largest country in the world. It has a multitude of different languages and cultures which makes a unified governance a bit chancy. It is the largest muslim population in the world exceding the total muslim population of the second, third and fourth muslim countries, but not everyone wants to submit to sharia rule. Those that do are viewed as we do the snake-handlers and other extreme groups in this country. The trouble with that is that the extreme muslims are also the violent muslims.
Indonesia has several groups which want either to separate from Indonesia or a type of autonmy much like our Indian reservations. Indonesia has much natural resources, oil, gold, copper, hardwoods. They're faced with extremes of poverty with people living in the stone-age and city life found in the cities of Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya.
Indonesia is going to be a country worth watching for the next several years.
I was just wondering if once on the ground, the snow would stick around for a period of weeks or months. Or, did it melt in a week and then you would have a period of slush and then more snow. I used to live in Pennsylvannia, in fact I was born in Troy, New York, but since I moved from there in 1962, I have forgotten those details.
As much as I'd love to stay around and chat with myself, I'm off to bed. I just got hit by a headache, I didn't have it one moment and then the next the whole backside of my head began to be squeezed, so I'm off to medicate and meditate.
See y'all in the Dawn Patrol. Oh, by the way, the youngest is taking the ACT in the morning.
Thank you.

When you get up tomorrow, I hope you see this ping. My father always told me that if the snow stays on the ground a week, you will have abother snow. I have found this to be about 80% true. My guess is that the snow will stick until Christmas, and we will have at least one other snow on top of it.

Bad dog ... hehehe!
It was a recent Supreme Court's decision which caused the magnetic pole to make the decision to move, but you won't see that reported on regular TeeVee.
Not doing so well...I had a cyst removed from my eye yesterday and it feels like a piece of sand is in there. ---tears are running down my cheek.
Hello, Raven. I won't say 'good morning' because it certainly isn't one for you. I don't know a thing about eyes and cysts, but it sounds like you need to contact the ophthalmologist....trouble is that it's so early in the morning and one is not likely to be in the emergency room. I do hope that you get some medical help soon.
