I think he should do nanowrimo! Sounds like a darn good plot.
Heh...I think he took parts of movies he'd seen (Jaws, Signs) and made up his own story.
He literally bugged me all summer to write it down and finally I said OK and he started dictating and when he was done, he never mentioned it again.
I guess he just needed to get all that out of his mind!
That's what I think.
He never had anything like bad dreams or anything...(we joke that everyone knows that real monsters are made out of chocolate and to keep an eye out for them because I really want one...which leads to "Oh no! Me first! I get the monster first!" It's all a joke, but my kids have never been afraid of monsters under their bed...)
A most excellent story!!
Mornin' everyone. ~sip~
Good morning!

Steve turns in another draft of his paper this Friday. FWIW
~sigh~
Another draft? Man... when is he going to defend?
Whenever they give him the OK. It's very frustrating. But each time he gets it back there are less and less fixes he has to do. So maybe this will be the final time and they'll let him defend.
It's extremely frustrating because I thought I was going to be able to get my life back a bit and it's not turned out that way. It's not so bad as it used to be and I can go to my BA CHEF meetings and such, but for the most part I'm still on my own every day until 9pm.
And the really bad thing is...and it's really bad...is his year ends this December. Remember what they said before? He has to have 6 hours of credit in the year he graduates. And the year ends for him in December. My understanding is that he has to take another six hours next year if he doesn't get this sucker finished by December 15th.
Ora et labora.
Ack! That is bad. Well, maybe this will be the last time. Does his advisor actually understand the situation? Because like I've said before, an advisor's job is to help with thing slike that... mine has done things like have me switch classes first day of the semester because otherwise I wouldn't have the 600 level I need if I want to finish next spring. His sounds a little less... hmmm... useful.
I hope so. We talked about it and even Steve had not thought about it! So I hope he has brought it up with his advisor.
Guess I should bring it up again...that he needs to make sure his advisor is aware.
I don't think much of his advisor either.
What an excellent way to treat that particular childhood drama! My younger sister was always afraid at night. We shared a room until we were teenagers, and she would always wake me up if she had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I guess she thought I'd fight anything off so nothing would get her. I never stayed awake. ;o) When she got her own room, she slept with a baseball bat under the bed.
I was astounded when this 'fraidy-cat' became a COP! I guess, though, she felt much more safe with her service revolver always available. ;o)
If you haven't left yet: can you drop the movie off when you go? I forgot about it.
I also forgot to start TAR downloading, I hope it will be fast enough this afternoon. Shame on me. Sorry!
That's a shame. It makes the process much easier when you have someone you like and respect looking out for you. It's why I carefully considered before choosing mine. Some of my friends have evil advisors who demand 80 hours a week out of them (on top of their jobs). Mine demands what I can do, and a little more, but in such a way that I can manage.
Did you see any of the threads were they found the remains of tiny humans?
They found hobbitses!
Yeah, I saw those! It was pretty cool.
I may have missed out on being an archeologist but I still find the subject of archeology and ancient studies fascinating.
I find it interesting too. If it was more Indiana Jones and less excavating ancient toilets, I might have been interested in studying it.
Not just ancient toilets but also garbage pits.
But to find a treasure (not nessicerilly gold and jewels) that no one knew existed or if they did they couldn't find it or determine if it even existed or not is thrilling.
Heh...we have a future NaNoWriMoer in our midst.
Hi all - I'm off on the road again today... See you all tonight...
