I've been dieting lately, you can have the spam.
Ruh roh! What's the sodium content?
Enough to make me bloat waaay up, which is why you can have it ;-)
No, I'll just hoard it in case there's a storm. PT says I gotta watch the sodium intake...
Ok, good plan. What else do you have to watch? Fat, carbs, sugar? Are you reduced to subsisting on lettuce leaves yet?
No, it's pretty much calorie based. Watch the obvious stuff, salt, sugar, etc.
I use a computer program and enter everything. It tallys the results and tells me how I'm doing.
Doesn't sound too bad as long as the program doesn't zap you for goin' over.
Diet zot?
Ouch.
I get a grade. I'm averaging a 96 (A).
'Zat mean you get a Mustang when this is all over?
I'm guessin' my odds are better'n Jrs...
Diet zot? Is that like when Diet Riot explodes all over the kitchen?
Could be.
They don't call it Diet Riot fer nuthin'.
*sigh* Brother in CA just called for help troubleshooting a DSL issue and I had no idea what to do. I feel like an idiot, and I think that's about what he thought. I don't fully understand a lot of networking stuff even now, and it ticks me off that I don't.
And I'm really nervous about losing what skills I *do* have if nothing comes up soon.
Wish the phone would ring.
Did you tell him to restart everything and then call his DSL people?
Heh...not in so many words, but basically.
He's got a router set up, and though he or his room mate can connect, if one person is connected, the other person gets a time out error when they try to connect.
He hadn't looked through any of the setup instructions for DSL, so there may even be something in the paperwork they got, I dunno. But I still feel wretched that I didn't have answers.
Thanks Jen!
You've never done anything with DSL. I can't, say, configure a Linux server, because it's not something I've ever done or learned. If I ever have to, I'll learn how. Nobdy can know everything and you're not free family tech support.
I should still have some idea how to do some basic troubleshooting. Nothing I can do about it now. But it frustrates me that it's almost always family who call with impossible questions. It's amazing they aren't all convinced I'm useless as a computer type.
I suppose I should wait at least a day before calling the college. They did say mid-week. But I wish they'd call. Of course, realistically there's more than twice as much of a chance the call won't be positive (they have eleven candidates, will be eliminating eight), but I'm refusing to face facts until if and when I hafta.
ungh. Izzit time to go home yet????
She's written a series of novels in which the major character is Kay Scarpetta, who is the Chief Medical Examiner for the State of Virginia, Her office is located in Richmond, and she deals with murder cases. The first one, which I just finished, is "Post Mortem", other titles include "Cruel and Unusual", "All That Remains" and "Body of Evidence", and there are a bunch more. I just got "Cruel and Unusual" in large print from the library last night.
