I was just sitting here thinking about a 1500 mile drive I have to make, and contemplating burning a couple CDS for the drive. I found some music that would make it more interesting but not enough. So here is the question.
If you were going to drive from Phoenix to Indy, you were in a sports car, what music would you want to have on your cd?

For some blood pumping music I would also play "You Got Another Thing Coming" - Judas Priest, and "Enter Sandman" - Metallica. And for good measure, "Locomotive Breath" - Jethro Tull, and "Love Lies Bleeding in My Hand" - Elton JohnAutograph's "Turn Up The Radio", Pat Travers "Snorting Whiskey", and Led Zepplin "Trampled Underfoot" will revive you after 12+ hours behind the windshield....

Electric Light Orchestra - Here is the News
John Michael Montgomery - Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)
e-Type - Morning Light
Just some stuff off the top of my head.

Thanks. I have all of those and a few more on one CD. I'm studying violin so it's heavy on violin. I listen and wish I could play them...someday...maybe.

One time when a friend and I were driving, "Theme from 'Strike Force'," "Battle of New Orleans," and "Black-eyed Joe" helped us stay awake.

There is a group named Type O Negative that does a heavy metal/gothic version of "Summer Breeze". Think Seals and Croft on drugs.....

I'm surprised that nobody even mentioned any comedies. If you can get it, just about anything by Bill Cosby, especially "Bill Cosby, Himself." Children have brain damage and the dentist are just a few of the classics you'll find on that one.
And if you search for it on the Internet, you will be howling with laughter from "bootleg" audio from Saturday Night Live's "Celebrity Jeopardy."
Steve Martin's first album is great too.

Yep... 92.5. I don't listen to music on the radio anymore (except maybe Jack). I listen to Laura in the am on 660 and Russ Martin in the evening on 105.3

Jo De Messina's Greatest Hits, Soundtrack to 1776 (original recording if you can find it - I got a copy off of Ebay), CCR, Bill Engval's comedy CD's (with this one be careful you don't laugh so hard that you drive off the road).

Bible on CD is not a bad idea. That one is REALLY tough to sing along with...
True, but you gotta love King David's lyre solo after the Psalms. (har har ;)

Gotta have the Theme from Route 66 in there somewhere.
The books on CDs is a great idea. I've done the books on tape and the time flys by.
