Good Morning!

But like the birds in Wiconsin, we will fly around their windmills.

That about says it all.

Bump to your opening today Chair!

Good morning folks, excellent news about the AQ capture. Hopefully we've pulled out the panties and he's started to sing like a canary.

Whoa! How do you find the time? I'm impressed. I also remember a time when Newsweek had an iceberg on its front cover because the Ice Age was coming.

Without explanation, we've moved to its polar (no pun intended) opposite.

Nice opening.

Having started years ago taking graduate classes in Environmental studies, I watched the Environmental movement take a hard turn to the left, where individual responsibility no longer becomes the focus. (As you so well put...)

For example, the lumber industry, that used to be encouraged by the environmental movement to do selective cutting, at least here in Wisconsin, all of a sudden became the villian. They are now the "evil" ones who cut down our trees, and leave a barren landscape.

Not only is this not true, but does not make good sense business wise. Most lumber companies will tell you that selective cutting and reforestation makes good business sense because they provide jobs for the future in the lumber industry. Trees are renewable resources, but we still have a population out there that do not understand that concept!

We just had a new book brought into the school where I work that talks about Earth Day, (Publ. 2004) and they attack the lumber industry for destroying the forests, leaving nothing for future generations. (citing the Tragedy of the commons factor.)

Grrrrr...... So backwards, and mis-informed.

Great opening Chair. Regarding the windmills/birds issue; I wonder how it is dealt with in Liberal California? I remember acres and acres of them outside Stockton!

Good morning all!

As science was one of my undergrad degrees, I can attest to the fact of the many lies, misrepresentations I learned (but of course did NOT realize it at the time). The thought there would be falsehoods simply did not enter my mind.

Later as a college INSTRUCTOR I - as well as every other prof -- can tell you that I was free to chose the text books I wanted ..and I did find ones to "fit my agenda".. with science as well as many other fields.. you can have epxerts make a statement/decision based on whatever body of research they chose to consider, or conveniently ignore. one can have a large group supporting one idea & others as "prestigious" supporting 180.

The best advice to any student beginning college is "DO NOT BELIEVE MOST OF WHAT YOU READ, HEAR STUDY".

"Which brings us to a bigger question, what of environmentalism, and are conservatives inherently against it?"

Excellent opening, Mr. Chairman! When I was growing up in Wisconsin in the 50's and 60's, we practiced "Conservation" and were laughed at by the Oh-So-Chic Liberals as plaid shirt-wearing hicks from the sticks. Then, in the late 60's, "Ecology" became the cause celeb and these same liberals were running around mindlessly mouthing "eco-this" and "eco-that".

One borderline flower child asked me at a party what I was studying at college. I said, "Electrical Engineering". She asked, "Why not become an Eco-Engineer?" I asked her, "What does an eco-engineer do?" She said, "Oh, he saves the planet and does all sorts of nice things!" I suddenly realized I needed another drink and excused myself.

The radical environmentalists, in their mindless drive towards green, have caused incredible disasters as unintended consequences of their "good intentions". And typically, their response is that they meant well and it will just take more money to solve it.

End of rant!

As one who has worked in the field (environmental) for a gazillion years, I should have weighed in yesterday.

The problem is one of economics. If pollution control was free - we'd be doing it. Or if they had value - we'd be doing it (chip makers recover gold at great costs). Economics is the allocation of scarce resources. So who allocates?

The left has always contented top down is necessary and has no regard whatsoever for the effect on the economy. Cleaner is better and to heck with the cost to the point of obsession.

The right has backed away from the environment in the past since it hurts too much to argue with the left.

Good article Chair. I heard Rush. yesterday, saying the enviro wackos tell us 50,000,000 birds are KILLED each year, I didn't hear the reason. These people learned, well, from the knee of the communists. Tell a story long enough and people will think it's true.

Good Morning Everyone. RAINY day in central Texas. Hopefully the seeds will take advantage of it and sprout.

MK, I didn't know I killed the threat, yesterday. Sorry. I de-posted right after that and did some reading.

Oh, I finished "Ron Brown's Body". Holy smokes, our government sounded corrupt. Which it was, and now x42 is in the un along with other corrupt individuals. It's amazing, the amount of information of corruption from that administration and nothing has been done. They walk free, loved by the presstitutes, have become celebrities, can and do whatever their phsycopathic minds think of. AND the law stands toothless. Amazing! We've seen the corruption continue when Burgler Boy stole those documents from the archives and he walks. AMAZING!
