I don't particularly care for Bo, but am hoping for Carrie to win. How do we know that they don't boot out whoever they want. AI could cheat the viewers and we would never know.
Hi you :-)
Had time for a brief visit to FR and looked you up to visit you on a thread... turns out you're hanging out in a subject I know absolutely nothing about LOL
I'll root for your favorites since I don't have my own yet :-)
I think Bo will do fine once they get away from these stupid show tunes songs. The one thing I noticed about Bo is that he is always on key. I've never heard Randy say that he was "pitchy." I think he is the only one who has never been off key. He seems the most relaxed and professional. I'd like to see a rocker win. Lt Dan is just an actor playing a rocker.
LOL! Yes I see the similarities.
If I'm not mistaken, I think AI has some kind of high-falutin firm overlooking the votes, making sure everything is on the level (the same way Price-Waterhouse handles the Academy Awards). If it was ever discovered that AI was rigging votes, they would probably be sued into the ground.
He sure is. He seems the most sincere, too, which is my barometer.
Lt Dan is just an actor playing a rocker.
You said it!!!
HEY YOU!!!!
Welcome to the party!
Whaddya mean, you don't watch American Idol?
You got a life or somethin?
As much as you love music, I'm surprised...
It's almost as much fun as this thread.
PS...root for Bo =^)
That isn't very reassuring. I've always thought the Academy Awards were a bit rigged. :( I think Carrie's the most versatile of those remaining and the one to beat. :)
The last couple of weeks Simon was all over TV praising Carrie to the hilt. Remember when he said she would win the competition and outsell all other AI winners? Remember also that I mentioned he created a backlash of sorts among the kids over on the AI boards when he said that?
Whatever Simon is up to, we can be sure of two thing: It's all about money, and he is very much aware that his critiques manipulate votes.
The AI competition is nothing more than a drawn-out market test. The producers and judges know something we don't, which is the breakdown of the vote totals. So who knows. If they see the trend moving toward a likely final paring (probably Carrie and Constantine this year), maybe they also try to push the votes toward the performer they think will be most marketable in the short run.
That's what it's all about for the producers. Make a killing on the show itself for as long as the run lasts. Also make a killing on the winner and, if possible, the runner up for about two years. After that, the smart and/or well-advised ones like Clay and Kelly go on to other opportunities.
Clay Aiken has proved that a contestant doesn't need to win AI in order to be successful afterwards. So you shouldn't worry abour Carrie either way. I just cannot imagine her not being in the finals. She deserves to win, but if all those pre-teen and teenage girls out there push Lt. Dan to the top, Carrie might actually be better off in the long run.
ROFLMAO!!! You have the language of the natives down cold.
Good move!
As the old saying goes, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Paula was right when she asked Bo if he wanted it.
My theory < tin-foil hat on > is that Simon wants Constantine paired with Carrie in the finale so that the clear winner will be Carrie. He may assume that the voters wont possibly crown Lt. Dan the next American Idol--not when the mega-talented Carrie is standing there like an angel sent from Heaven. < /tin-foil hat off > But who knows If he wins then thats AIs problem, not Carries. Ill be buying her CD regardless.
She deserves to win, but if all those pre-teen and teenage girls out there push Lt. Dan to the top, Carrie might actually be better off in the long run.
Thats a good point. Dont get me wrong, I want Carrie to win, but if she lost to that greaseball, then she would be free (relatively speaking) to create the CD that she wants, whereas Lt. Dan would be a slave to the whims of the AI producers and would have to churn out a collection of recordings that would be rushed to the Wal-Mart shelves by October. Carrie, on the other hand, would have a bit more time to choose and polish her material before its releasedjust as Clay did in 2003. And like him, she would no doubt enjoy similar record sales.
:-D
Okay, okay, rooting for Bo :-)
Pssst.... izzat a guy or a girl???
And you are entirely right, I should be a normal person and try this show. If I can watch it this week I'll look you up here and pelt you with questions until I catch up with who everyone is LOL
Go BO!
Well, his hair's longer than most wimmin's
but he's definately all guy.
He may not be your cuppa tea...
But Molly Marie and I both agree =^)
Hope you can catch it.
