Anthony LaPaglia...accent

You should hear him talk when he comes home;

Also on talk shows here...heavy Aussie accent.

BTW those pics of Sydney Harbour on your page are
awesome, especially that first one.
You're an excellent photographer!

Aren't you glad you have this thread?

ABSOLUTELY!!! BTW, I hope Bo gets his act together next week, also. Randy, Paula and Simon were on the local FOX News affiliate here in L.A. this morning, and they raved about Constantine. I'm beginning to worry that Lt. Dan might win it all.

One word: UGH! I would never buy a CD of his. He may be nice and all but he is painful to look at. :)

One word: UGH!

I agree totally. Maybe if he'd clean up his appearance I might not dislike him as much.

Hi, jonny. For fun, I thought you might enjoy an example of what our "excellent" school system turns out. The following is verbatim -- posted over on the AI boards this morning. The poster was referring to Anwar. BTW, this "Brittnee16" used a small, italic, red font to post her message.

I was not sorry to see the Hairball go. Maybe she can do remakes of the old Superfly movies.

Carrie should sing Patsy Cline's "Crazy". Maybe she is saving that for the last week of competition.

Scott must have a following. Are prisoners allowed to call American Idol once a week?

Anwar is just too cutesy to be the American Idol. Maybe the American Transvestite Club Idol.

Anthony is forgettable. He can do cruise ship gigs for the rest of his life.

My prediction: The final showdown will be between Carrie and Constantine. A tie will be declared. Once again, we will have two American Idols in the same season.

Thank you...photography is a very new hobby of mine and there have been plenty of duds along the way but sometimes one or two work out ok. Glad you liked them!

they raved about Constantine. I'm beginning to worry that Lt. Dan might win it all.

Evening/Afternoon, Wolfstar :)

What's up with their constant Constantine praise? Take last night for example: Simon nearly gushed when recalling the "Bohemian Rhapsody" performance, which is totally unlike Simon. Even when he likes a singer or a song, he'll usually keeps the adulation to a minimum--"It was good." But with Lt. Dan, he rambled on and on like a drunken Paula. Embarrassing.

It seems to me that Simon (and the other powers-that-be at AI) are clearly trying to swing as many votes toward Constantine as possible--why I don't know. It defies logic. Yes, he can sing reasonably well at times, but he hasn't done anything remarkable, IMO. Carrie, on the other hand, is special. She's the total package. If she were kicked off the show next week, I would still buy her CD--that's how good she is. Constantine is just a wanna-be compared to her.

Hi, Oz :) I saw part of an interview with Anthony LaPaglia this morning--you're right, he hasn't lost his accent completely. When he says certain words the Aussie in him comes out, like "open" he pronounces "apen".

Did you see the extreme close-up of Lt. Dan last night?

Definite similarities :-D

g'day jonny! Just to let you know here in Sydney, AI is on tonight (Friday night) and we have the week's show condensed. We get the performances and the results all rolled into the one 90-minute show.

As I said to you before I don't mind already knowing the results as I know what to look out for based on this thread! I just wish sometimes I could throw my 2 cents worth in on the live thread....oh well, that's what I get for living Down Under! LOL

Have to disagree with you there...

What would FR be without that? ;)

Anyway, as a personal thing, Vonzelle is just boring to me. Her vocals may be better than Nadia's (although I thought the Denise Williams song wasn't good), but she just isn't interesting, AFAIC. As Simon says, "like wallpaper".

What's up with their constant Constantine praise?

On an early post I noted that a family member had a theory early on that they were pushing for Constantine to win.

Note the vignette they did on his 'breaking the news to the band' and doing 'broadway themes'. (he toured in Rent)

Well, one person's wallpaper is another thinker's
panoramic view, I suppose.

Everyone on American Idol reminds us of someone,
which affects our opinion.

"Maybe she can do remakes of the old Superfly movies."

What a riot! I still thought she looked like the back up singers in the cartoon "Hercules."

But Nadia seemed like a nice girl so I'm kinda sad that she got the boot before "deliverance boy."

Anyway...I heard a theory on why Lt. Dan suddenly got some "push" from the judges.
Something to do with wanting a "male-rocker" to win and Bo is older than Lt. Dan so they'd prefer the younger dude.
Too bad because Bo can wipe the floor with "tongue boy."

Let's hope Carrie can come up with some clear "slam dunks" over the next few weeks and maybe Lt. Dan will go the way of Tamara Grey and Latoya London.
