The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Evening Winmag - that is great product line. 'specially the "black" finish on the folder. Too bad it doesn't come that way. Sharp look to it.

Evening OT - sliding glass door, excellent. Has Miss Kitty recovered from the 'disruption' in her schedule?

See! Life needs a soundtrack!

A favorite movie quote of mine: "Now he's humming his own theme song. I am so glad I was unconscious for this part".

All right, so my soundtrack would be a little lighter in tone than most people's... I'm thinking "Gilbert and Sullivan" here...

I want life to have a soundtrack.

Heh... you probably won't know this, but that was a featured bit in the movie "I'm Gonna Git You, Sucka!" The Black Hero had a group of musicians following him around playing his theme music...

It was a musket.

I was thinking maybe a stick of dynamite. ;)

Yahsureyoubetcha. I'll be right over. :-)

I'm not sure yet what's fer dinner. Got the makin's for French Dip. Probly do that.

Got a bagel-and hoagy-size toaster last week, and I'm pretty happy about that. In my world, using a toaster qualifies as "cooking". :-)

Evening Ramius: soundtracks - hmmm. overture from 'Last of the Mohicans' might work as well.

I've never even heard of that movie. But it sounds like a great idea.

It was a satire of 70s "blaxploitation" movies, made in 1988 by Keenan Ivory Wayans. Very funny movie, especially if you're at all familiar with movies from the 70s such as "Shaft", "Superfly", etc., etc.

Good call... :-)

Then again there's always "the Ocean" by Led Zeppelin. Or maybe "Birdland" by Maynard Ferguson. So many choices... I think the soundtrack for my life needs to be on a multi-disk changer.

I'm not familiar with those movies at all, (un?)fortunately but hey, any movie where the Hero's got a band to do his soundtrack... well, actually, that's rather reminiscent of the coconuts from Monty Python.

Ooh! I just remembered what's good about Tuesday - Amazing Race. Must remember to start that downloading before bed.
