The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Someday I'll have to cook you some fresh fish and see if I can change your mind ;-)

Yeah, that musket definitely comes under the fun "equipment" category.

Although I'm thinking that it could be fun to go fishing with a bow and arrow.

Here's a follow-up picture...see the fish better:

Here's a couple of pictures from my yoot. This is during a mission trip to Wyoming...I'm a Gulf Coast girl experiencing snow for the very first time. This was just a patch on the side of the road, but we couldn't pass it up...had to stop and play! (That's my older brother in the checkered pants!)

Careful there, Kim!

Wups!

I remember we got to Green River Wyoming and I got strep throat...got very sick, ran a high fever. Had to get a shot which I FLATLY refused. I mean obstinately refused. The nurses begged, my mom begged, they tried to hold me down and I would have none of it. For like an hour, no kidding.

Then my mom got my dad on the phone and he threatened me. (He was at the church that sponsered our mission trip.)

I got the shot.

Hi all! I've got a sliding glass door now, woo hoo! Now I have to paint. I wonder if there's any left-over kitchen paint in the paint collection.

We have a specific saucer that "whacks" very well :-) 2J - I just buy the boneless steaks, then beat 'em to almost a pulp.

Satisfying, ain't it? I have one particular saucer that works best, too! ;-)

Woo-hoo! I'm back on-line at home!

OK, all over! And I went ahead and told her to list it.

Bad news is that it isn't worth all that much more than it was - we're listing at about ten thousand more than I actually paid, which means I'll likely get four or five thousand more, if all goes well.

Good news is that it's worth enough more that I should at LEAST break even, even after paying commission and all. That's all I really hoped for, though of course I wouldn't have MINDED additional funds...

Judging from the research I've done on my own, what she set the price at is pretty accurate. I felt good enough about it to just say "OK, let's get this started."

So...now I just need prayers that it goes quickly!

Oh...and she didn't say anything about the condition or cleanliness! ;-) Just told me to have someone check on some ceiling tiles in the little hall that are loose. Not a big deal.

Has the realtor been there yet?

Yeah - we all cross-posted! Good enough news then! Too bad there wasn't a little more market appreciation, but you haven't had it all that long either, right?

I just got a new sliding glass door put in:

It replaces the door and window...Or part of the window. It got within 6 inches of the right side of the window so they had to sheetrock the gap.

Lots more light in the kitchen, huh? Will Her Majesty have a kitty door that goes out to the sunroom? So they put the door in. When do they start on the sunroom itself?

I'll put you on our Parish Prayer list for quick sale of a home. Definitely NOT a TPR. Glad you don't have to do anything else before getting it ready to show. Is the realtor going to put a lock box on it so it can be shown while you're at work?

I want to put one of these in for Her Majesty:

Dunno when they'll start on the sunroom.

What kinda curtain you putting over the SGD? I have this ol' nasty pink 'n beige job on mine and I can't stand it...

Right now I don't have a curtain on it. Eventually there will be a sunroom on the other side.

In the meantime, I suppose I could use "bachelor curtains"...hang a sheet up there or something. If faces the back yard. Wonder if the neighbors are watching......

Wave at 'em! LOL

I'm thinking some vertical blinds or something. I'd like to get my enclosed porch windowed in and then put up curtains or something out there...

Maybe ASG.
