The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

You following the threads about the Pope's illness? It seems his Parkinson's is exacerbating his bout with the flu...

I could just go with cafe curtains. Get one of those curtain rods with the fancy doo-dads on the end.

Guess I could always tack a solid panel behind it. Say....an ivory lace on top of a solid kahki or something. Maybe I could put on snaps so I could change panel colors with the seasons.

That's a good idea! You can get light panels...are they called sheers? And between the panel and the see-through lace, I imagine it would be private.

Whoo-hoo! Sounds like good news to me!

Did she give you any clues as to how long things would take to get moving?

I read a funny bit on a blog today and thought of you guys for some reason...

I want life to have a soundtrack. Not just any soundtrack, mind you, I want Chinese martial artists trailing me when I walk around, singing about how to be the perfect Han. I want a strings section and a men's chorus following me chanting "Es ca! Flow ne!" I want Isaac Hayes (or, alternately, the Bee Gees) following me around when I strut down the street. Is that really so much to ask? And I know people have thought the same way I do--so why do those same people look at me strangely when I sing scene-appropriate songs as I walk around? Why?

A mark of how little caffeine I'd ingested at that point was that my first reaction was "right on!" followed thirty seconds later by hitting the back button and slapping my forehead - "Oh! Escaflowne, duh".

Cool... can I have "Ride of the Valkyries" dubbed up whenever I throw open the computer room door?
