The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Yeah - if you dwell on it for days.... you better come up with something better than that.

Owie! He was really digging, wasn't he? Ow, ow, ow! I've been stuck a time or two and bruise easily, but I've never had a needle do anything like that kinda damage...

Told us he needed to go back because that's where his heart is.

Well, then. he should be willing to work harder next school year, since THAT would determine whether or not he goes. That way HE makes that decision by his actions, not you, in his opinion capriciously.

Maybe he though if he dug deep enough he'd hit another vein a bit higher up, I dunno! Hurt VEY bad, it did.

BTW, I saw that someone put "Ruthy Hospital Escape" in the keywords. LOL!

To: JenB; All

The thread is dead, so I'm going home.

First, I've got to pick up Scruffy from the vet though. His stitches were removed today! :-D

Corin had nothing to do with it. He was trapped in meeting hell....I am not making this up...

About 2 hours into this afternoon's session we get to the point in the agenda where one of our staff is going to make an extensive power point presentation. One of the representatives from the "other side of the issue" (not really, but it works), stood up and said, "We've had this and this and this and this and this happen and we would respectfully request that this committee of the Board table this issue until the May Board meeting."

Discussion...discussion...discussion...the Board tables the issue until May.

THEN, the boss troll speaks up and says "why don't we go ahead and see the presentation anyway?" Knowing full well that it will have to be presented to the full Board in May.

Thankfully, the chairman shot him down.

I swear, the man feeds on this stuff.

Twern't me!

Hah ha ha!!! Those darn chickens! They keep getting out of their run, which is a plenty big run and they don't need to be getting out and pooping in my yard! So this morning, I looked out to see Joshua ramming his gigantic remote control Hummer my mom got him for his birthday into the side of the chicken run, the chickens were VEY distressed, bocking and looking vey alarmed.

'Course, I hollered out the back door "Joshua! Quit scaring those chickens!"

Later, I see a couple of chickens got out of the run...fly over the fence, you know? Well, the Hummer was right there, so I got the remote and chased 'em a bit! LOL Put the chickens back in the run and parked that Hummer right by the fence...

Ever now and then I go out and rev it's engine to remind 'em! LOL

I just went to the vet, too. Picked up some eye drops for Halvah - she still has one eye that's a little pink around the edges.

And I talked to them about finding homes.

I almost broke down and bawled on the front counter.

But they gave me a number for a lady they said is really good at placing cats. I could have put a message on the bulletin board there too...but I think I'll try this lady first.
