Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Wow, Corin... hang in there, dude...
ya gots prayers if'n ya needs 'em. :-)
There's a special place being prepared for guys like you. You're a saint.
Though... having the wife at the registration desk to actually puke on the keyboard for the benefit of the clerk might have been an interesting touch. Just something to consider... :-)

Well, as is my wont, I have chased everyone away by showing up. As usual.
I may go smoke a cigar. I may go bid for a clay pipe on eBay...

I wanted to tell her "Okay darlin' we'll both go to my house and get what you need. You can hold the puke buckets whilst I get Nana's purse...or you can scroll down on yer flippin' screen..." But I didn't. You should have! Would have served her right, the hag!

Well, in her defense, she ~was~ right that I should've had the information. It was just too chaotic to get it at the house. She suggested, and I agree, that I should have the information on a card in my wallet.
Also told the Mrs. if Nana is going to live with us, I need power of attorney in case she's incapacitated. Wife has it. Fortunately, Nana was able to sign the forms herself tonite.

I haven't worn sweat pants in public for at least 50 lbs... Nuts. Another career down the drain. I was so hoping to run away with the circus. I suppose I still could, but I just know I'd get stuck cleaning the tiger cages. Nice kitty...

Evening Winmag. My FIL has a Luger obtained in a similar fashion. Very nice handling firearm. The Luger has incredible ergonomics, as we would say today. It was also incredibly expensive to make, as it took hundreds of separate machining steps.

If you actually saw the picture (it's now a red x)...the guy on the beach menaced by a giant white bubble...it's from
The Prisoner, a British TV series about a man kept in a luxury seaside resort against his will. And yes, the giant bubble is among the means of his incarceration...
Good morning everyone...

Oooh, mystery series? Were they any good? Would Blockbuster or something have them? It wasn't really SUPER good, but I got slightly hooked on it. It starred the lady that plays Hyacinth Bucket (that's boo-kayyyy!) in "Keeping Up Appearances". Dominic Monaghan played her nephew and assistant, Jeffrey - he lived with her and her husband. He's actually my age and therefore would have been maybe twenty or so.
Unfortunately at this point, about all I remember about the series is that, as I was still not used to the fact that the British were fine with partial nudity on TV so long as it was after nine or so at night, I was very startled one day by a shower shot of Dom's butt. Oh joy!
And on that note...time for coffee.

The absolute horror expressed by liberals and rinos killed it instantly yeah... when I was turnin' it in, there were a few REMFs and civilians watchin' what was turned in, and setting aside the nicer weapons aside...
the Hungarian AK was in great condition, compared to most of the crap we saw, and had a beautiful grain in the stock... rather than have it hangin' on somebody elses wall or gunvault, I wrapped it around a tree... then asked 'em if they still wanted it...
muh friend has an STG-44 his dad got off'n a Waffen SS trooper... guess that one slipped thru the cracks...
