The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Morning!

I just did a quick inventory of the paint cans in the garage...lots of white (shudder!) and a can of "eggshell" that has never been opened. No wood stain though, so I guess if I want to match the frame of the sliding glass door to the floor I'm just going to have to eyeball it. Well....I shouldn't put it off any longer. I'm off shopping.

good morning...

Rose is still sacked out makin' z's, but I think her idea was that if the power supply was disconnected from the motherboard and all the drives, plugged into the wall outlet, and still didn't power up when you flipped the switch, then the power supply was probably at fault. The fan at least should come on...

Do you have another power supply you can swap with, to see if the problem follows the suspect supply?

I'm baaaaack! Ended up getting a wall shelf from the unfinished furniture store, some stain, and clear coat. Looked around at Home Depot. The cat doors they had were small and had transparent doors....the kind most cats prefer, or so the packaging said. The medium sized-door (with a picture of a dog) didn't have a flap that would lock. Let me look it up in the cat catalog and find out what sized-door I should get for a fat cat.

Time for the Tech/ Dook game.

How'd the inspection go?

I am ignoring homework for a few hours to make the Popeye's run, and then it will be another hard afternoon and evening of slogging through impenetrable forests of weird code.

Heya Pippin! Glad to have infected you with the Harry Potter virus. I'm looking forward to the sixth book too. Hopefully I can go home that weekend and continue our family tradition of reading the book aloud.

I don't have another power supply, I'm leery of them. I do know where there's a techie store in town so I'll haul the computer over there today or tomorrow and see what they can do for me.

I received an e-mail that Lt. Paul will be coming home from Iraq. He's scheduled to leave 11FEB and return to Ft. Sill.

Another one of "our guys" is coming home!

OT - wow, we're impressed, a 2 and a half hour shopping safari. Are you still wanting a solid color door? LSA suggested that the clear could work with wood grain contact paper. Then you could get the locking door kind.

Wonder how Rosie's Inspection went?

Afternoon Hair, though I guess it's still morning out there. Windy here, the big flag across the street is really flapping. Best get some lunch.

Well if cats prefer the transparent door....but then again the door would be visible from the dining area. I'll keep the contact paper solution in mind.

I want to make sure I'm getting the right size door before I buy.

This door comes in a 9 x 10'ish opening size. I think Miss Fat Cat can fit through there.

Maybe I'd better measure her first.

Inspection went well! The house is sold! They're coming by for the sign by Monday. And the closing is set, for now, for March 15th.

I'd better start selling stuff off!

WooHoo!!! Now you won't ever have to "Beware the Ides of March", because it will be a GOOD day!!

I'm so pleased for you. It does seem as if, once you made the decision, the pieces are falling into place to make it easier for you to carry it out.
