Okay. Flame if you want. This is what you'd probably call a vanity. Yes, I am a new member, but I've lurked here for years. And no, I'm not from DU!!! However, I am asking a serious opinion here, not trying to start a flame war. I am an agnostic. But I am a conservative. I am anti-abortion, think gay marriage is wrong, I hate high taxes, and think the Dept. of Education is a bunch of shiznit.
But I can't meet a woman like me. All the girls in my age group (I'm 20) are either flaming liberals, or, if they are conservative, they're Jesus freaks. I don't mean to offend anyone but that's the best description I can come up with. Does a non-religious, or "libertarian" type, young, conservative, SINGLE female exist, or not?
Xenalyte here is just about perfect for me.
OK, here goes: Xenalyt, will you maouuurr...
(ahem)
Xenalyt, will you muauuoor....
Xenalyt, woool...
Shiznit!
Sorry, you're on your own, buddy.
there's Ayn Rand, but I'm not sure if worm-eaten corpses are your type or not.
"I want a girl that won't lecture me because I listen to death metal, or watch "bad" movies, or drag me to all her church activities. I have no problem with Christians, it's just not me."
Well, for starters, if you're only 20, then you're hardly a fully-formed adult male ready to settle down. And if you're anything like the 20 years olds I know, you're hardly husband material for any woman, yet!
If you just want to meet girls to date, then meet them at Death Metal concerts. Meet them at bad movies at the Multiplex, and stear clear of church gatherings.
Just sit down and think about this a little. I think, since you have no frame of reference to draw upon at this tender age, you're lumping people into one end of the spectrum or the other. No one is going to be exactly like you. And if they are...how bor-ing! I mean, it's nice to have basic things in common, but think of all you could learn from someone else when they introduce you to new ideas, hobbies, political views, etc. Not being mean, just asking you to think about a few things that might help you out.
No one is attractive when they're self-absorbed. And 20 years olds are very self-absorbed. I used to be one, too! You may actually be repelling women that are attracted to you due to your rigidity against religion. When you state, "Well, it's just not ME to be a Christian," they're deleting you from their mind and address book as you speak and you end up being someone they don't want to date more than once. You're shooting yourself in the foot.
Give yourself time to grow up, hone your likes, dislikes, moral values, etc. Keep your mind and options open. Things will work out for you. :)
Ayn Rand was sexy in her younger years, but necrophilia just aint my thing.
I was an agnostic when I was a teenager....but, I grew up.
I do believe there are many conservatives who are not religious, as that describes most of my family. I am not religious, and I do not believe people have good judgement or good morals simply because they are religious. Being a good person is far more important than your personal religious beliefs, in my view. It consistantly offends me that many religious people think they have cornered the market on values, and judge everyone who does not share their particular views. I have religious friends, and I do not hold anyone's beliefs against them regardless of what they are, because I believe that religion is a very personal thing. I am a conservative because I believe that everyone is responsible for their own life. Low taxes, fewer entitlement programs, respect for life, and bombing the crap out of anyone who deserves it.
Ah, okay. It gave me a chuckle anyway. Thanks. :-)
I have discovered your problem. Males and females mature at different rates. You are looking for a 20 year old woman with the tastes of a 13 year old boy.... That is a very rare animal.....
We should have a contest to name the sexiest Freeper. I have two names in mind myself.
because I have commen sense and morals. Having these qaulities does not mean you have to believe in god.
BWHAHAHAHA!!
Welcome to FR.
Not all conservative women are religious.
But single conservative women have a 'stealth capability' it seems.
You never find them until AFTER you're married.
I'm 29, and the best advice I can give you is to not write off people so easily.
It is possible to find non-religious women.
But just know beforehand what you're getting into.
Alot of pain anguish and trouble can be avoided by doing that.
Date, find out who the lady is personality wise, and find out just what you've got on your hands.
Just know this: any problems or troubles you have before marraige will be magnified afterwards.
And if one party is not willing to work on problems, there is no solving them.
Just keep that in mind.
Good luck.
Good luck with the lefty tramps then. And don't think you won't get lectured, but it will be about recycling, eating the "poor little animals", and global warming. Instead of getting dragged to "all her church activities", it will be Yoga and channeling sessions with hindu mediums. I'm telling you, from the school of hard knocks, you are way better off with a Christian girl.
You said you're a Deist. Does that make you immoral?
Is God the only reason you do the right thing?
And God has been very gracious in the Xena dept.
Yeah, if Xenalyte were in Ohio, and we were both available, I'd be interested...
Hope I didn't make ya blush, Xena!
LOL!
D'oh!
You're supposed to promise to be her loving and compliant servant for all of her days.
(Keep the half plate armor +3 handy though ;-).)
/ joke.
Aids, HPV, Syphillis, and the real real big one, when she gets pregnant....
