The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 12/20/2004 9:01:36 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well, yeah I suppose you aren't tracking in a lot of hay mud and pine needles. Nor are you likely to shed much ;~D

This new dog doesn't shed like Gidget does. That's a plus.

Actually, shedding is my worst problem. I sweep up double handsful of hair every week (the broom works really well for that).

We could treat ya for fleas... or you might just be a shedder.

My hair's quite long, you know, and thick. Just brushing it pulls out loads.

Evening...

Thinking about colors to paint my bed. Leaning toward a flattish or satin chocolate brown...like some fancy-schmancy furniture I saw over the holidays...

No illusions about making it look like wood (even though that's 'zackly what it is...if you saw it you'd understand).

Any thoughts?

Hi Rosie! *HUGS* I hear you on the 'new plan' stuff...and I wish you the best of luck!

Hello everyone! May I sit a bit on the doorstep and puff a few (figuratively speaking)

HI Jen!! FR Housemate Service? :D

I'm 'stuck' with mine (not that I'm complaining! LOL)

Next Friday (not tomorrow) will be Erin's last day at her school.

BRB hubby has to use the puter.

Evening OT - didja check out the weather forcast, 40's Sat and 50's Sunday? We lost some big limbs on the trees, methinks I'll be plugging in the chainsaw this weekend. Good thing it's all good firewood. Pear, Oak and Black Locust.

See, that's the plan. Rosie moves to Colorado and in with me. Of course, she may be sleeping in the tub...
