The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Nope. Wake Forest. RJ Reynolds paid them to move from Wake Forest to Winston Salem.

You know, I've been there. I should have remembered that. But wasn't Duke in that deal somewhere? What am I misremembering?

Nah, his hair isn't long. He's shorthaired.

But yeah, I'd need to get a vacuum cleaner.

Suzi's the closest. It would be cheapest to send them to her...

Sorry, I don't do pets up North. I'm not getting out in zero degree weather to walk the dogs (though I am partial to doxies) and I'm allergic to cats. ;o)

I could drive up there and help her paint, though. I'm vey good at that!

You'll be bringing Van-sama, no?

I have most things necessary for running a house, but if you bring your dishes and pans and small appliances that's probably good.

Do you want me to freepmail you with the amounts of my monthly bills? Like I said, I don't expect any while you're penniless, and certainly as long as you're on the sofa or whatever, not half...

Okay, started in Guilford County as Trinity (and had another name before that). Then they moved to Durham and later changed the name.

Wife taught for a bit at Trinity High School.

To help you find out the asking prices of homes in your area, go to realtor.com and key in the information about your place; zip code or town, number of bedrooms, number of baths, etc. It will show you all the similar houses that are for sale near you. You can easily compare yours to those.

Most of the rooms still have really ugly wallpaper...pretty hopeless. Which is why I'm sayin' I'd have to risk selling as is. Redoing the walls will just be out of my budget range.

But someone would probably be happy to buy it as a fixer-upper, I'd think. And I'll at least finish the office...finally.

Well....it doesn't cost anything to take the wallpaper down and then you can paint.

Can you tell I bought a house with nary a strip of wallpaper in it? :)

Heh, we'll put this whole thing on the non-trivial-prayer-request.

Don't worry about getting a job out here. I am positive you could get a "hold-me-over" that will pay enough to keep you warm and fed; you haven't got car payments, right? Any other debt?

And like I said there's lots of IT stuff around. College and all...

I'm assuming I'd be bringing Van-sama, yes...so I can bring books and dishes and maybe even a few sticks of furniture...my rocking chair and a trunk.

I've got room for those! I already have lots of other furniture, plenty enough. And cable internet, have I mentioned that? :-)

Getting your car registered in CO is expensive, but you don't have to do that for either three or six months, I forget, and then there's no yearly inspection! Just emissions.

Lessee... what else... I'm positive the state tax has to be less. Gas is about what it is here in Pittsburgh, I'd guess ten cents below the national average. I shop at Wal-mart for food and that is cheap... other than rent, it's very low price for everything.

Woodlawn Bedroom White

I'm planning to use some COLOR when we remodel. It's my house, I'm not selling anytime soon, and I like color! I especially like contrast, so all our woodwork is bright white, and I'm gonna paint the master bath a dusky purple. SSQ doesn't like dark color on the walls, but I'm using colors that are saturated but not necessarily dark. I have a lovely blue in the kitchen that changes as the day goes on. It looks like robin's egg blue in the morning sun, but with the incandescent lights at night, it's almost green. I'm going to use it for the new kitchen/family room area. It's a great 'cool' color for what will be a vey sunny area.

For Rosie's we could do a light taupe, or sage; vey popular colors right now. Good sellers, especially for the style and age of her house. Don't you like the way I've already chosen your paint colors, Rosie? ;o) I'm just a pushy broad, what can I say?
