We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
American forces now control 80% of Fallujah. The remaining terrorists are now cornered.

Final election vote tally:
Bush = 60,480,193
Outgoing AG Ashcroft commented that there are certain judges in America which threaten National Security by ruling contradictory to the President's obligations under international treaties and agreements. Specifically, Ashcroft condemned a judge's ruling that the President's decision that Al Qa'eda members were exempt from the Geneva Conventions was wrong.
The ACLU, naturally, disagreed with Ashcroft.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Morning Ms. Lysie.. How are things in NY? any more s**w ?
I am sorry I missed kayak's discussion of large, ornate bedroom furniture.
We still use my husband's Ethan Allen maple set his mother bought when he was in high school, because it is smaller (double bed instead of a queen, even).
When I sold furniture several years ago, this ornate stuff was just starting to come into fashion. One thing I learned is that the furniture industry takes it's cue from the building industry. Since new homes are higher-ceilinged and have larger master bedrooms, this is what they are designing for. In adition, since newer homes usually have little architectural detail, they are loading up the furniture with such stuff.
Same thing with the upholstery. Most newer homes have great rooms rather than living and family rooms. Larger furniture is to go in those types of rooms.
I can't tell you how hard it was to find an upholstered chair for a small older woman! Older folks can''t sit in those huge pieces...and if they do, they can't get out of them! I had a couple of manufacturer's that I used almost exclusively because they made smaller-scale pieces.
Furniture designers are not mainstream people, if you get my drift. They are heavily influenced by the fashion industry and are not real sympatheetic to those of us who aren't fashion forward.
There is a wonderful business near us that reupholsters and refinishes furniture. We have two chairs there now for repairs, and I imagine I will just recover anything else that shows signs of wear. It's too hard to find comfortable pieces nowadays.
Wow, I am really talky this morning! LOL!
Dark. :-) Good morning, Dolly.
Recover, indeed.
My mom scrimped to buy Harden furniture a few years after she had her house built. I have two of her chairs that need to be reupholstered. That might happen if we ever have fewer animals.
Harden is a good furniture company. Those chairs would be excellent candidates for reupholstery.
Turn on Fox. Wounded Marines from Fallujah at press conference.
Rats! I missed it.
"That Koran is one magical book! You can turn it whichever way you want and get the answer you are looking for!"
HA! I am sure he will be getting a letter from CAIR.
I'm practically in tears wathing this brave woman...April Holmes. Many give up sooner with far less.
Good morning. I'm off to read the news.
That was an inspiring segment. I like hearing from people like that...puts any problems I have in perspective.
Quite a game...
Would you believe I have not watched an entire Packer game since the start of the season?
Yard work has kept me busy. (Monday night games have sent me to bed eary...)
I sure enjoy listening to Wayne and Larry though.
I'm so glad your daughter is doing better! That's good news to hear first thing in the morning.
And a very cold morning it is. We had our first freeze.
I'll miss your posts, and your screen name always made me smile :-)
Good Morning. I've got a sore throat and stuffed up nose this morning.
41 degrees here at 6:30.
Good morning. No freeze here yet. But the hibiscus are being transplanted to pots this week and coming in.
DIL of #1 has quite a nice collection of tender hibiscus. She keeps them in pots on her deck, up close to the house on the South side. She moved them inside several weeks ago.
I cannot imagine digging them up and potting them to bring them inside, altho I have a neighbor who used to dig up 2 dozen rose bushes and pot them up each winter for storage in her garage.
That's why I use Buck and Canadian Roses.
((((bev))))
