AMERICA - The Right Way!! (WEEKEND EDITION: Days 1393 and 1394) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | November 13, 2004 | All of Us

Posted on 11/13/2004 4:54:21 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

American forces now control 80% of Fallujah. The remaining terrorists are now cornered.

Elsewhere:

Final election vote tally:

Bush = 60,480,193

Outgoing AG Ashcroft commented that there are certain judges in America which threaten National Security by ruling contradictory to the President's obligations under international treaties and agreements. Specifically, Ashcroft condemned a judge's ruling that the President's decision that Al Qa'eda members were exempt from the Geneva Conventions was wrong.

The ACLU, naturally, disagreed with Ashcroft.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I know just what you mean about bedding. It is VERY dark. I found what I wanted at Land's End. I am ordering new bedding for our bedroom, as our bedspread was worn from the dog sleeping on it. I wanted blues or yellows, and it was VERY hard finding what I wanted.

Plus, all the "moss green" I am seeing looks suspiciously like AVOCADO GREEN to me!! HA!

Are you talking about "Apocolypse Now?" My husband has that on while he is waiting for "The Longest Day" to come on. I was out in the family room looking for bedding in the catalogues and saw about 20 minutes of it. YUK!

I never saw it until this evening. How ANYONE paid money and sat through that is beyond me.

I understand your frustration with the bedding. Been there.

The Care Center prepared a special meal for our family and we all got to dine with Grandpa in a private dining room today to celebrate his 85th birthday.

PACKERS BEAT VIKINGS ON LAST-SECOND FIELD GOAL

The Green Bay Packers won their fourth straight game Sunday and pulled into a tie for first place in the NFC North, beating the Minnesota Vikings in a 34-31 thriller at Lambeau Field. Both teams now have records of 5-4.

Ryan Longwell kicked a 33-yard field goal as time expired to provide the winning margin after the Vikings had battled back from a 14-point fourth quarter deficit.

Brett Favre through four touchdown passes for the 18th time in his career, hitting Javon Walker, Tony Fisher, Bubba Franks, and William Henderson on scoring throws. Favre completed 20 of 29 passes on the day, good for 236 yards and no interceptions.

Ahman Green ran for 145 yards on 21 carries on the afternoon, including a 35-yard run in the second quarter.

Nine different Packers caught at least one pass Sunday, led by Walker's three catches for 74 yards. Walker's touchdown was a 50-yard grab to open the scoring.

Defensively, the Packers sacked Daunte Culpepper four times .

Now they're saying Guttenburg didn't invent the printing press:

Next it will be Silas McCorrmick didn't invent the reaper, John Deere didn't invent the plow, Eli Whitney didn't invent the cotton gin and Al Gore didn't invent the internet.

AND the Panthers actually pulled out a win (only their second of the year!) and my 2 favorite drivers came in 1st and 3rd in the race today. It's been a much better weekend, sports-wise, than most have been lately ... :-)

Saw the closing moments of 'your' game as bonus coverage when ours ended and was pulling like crazy for the Pack!

Oops! I just sent you two a FReepmail that I meant as a post ... *sigh*

At least that's a little bit better than posting what is meant to be a FReepmail.

Now I'll try again ...

Black woodwork! YUK!

Y'all really ought to go amble through a furniture store and see what's out there these days. I keep trying to imagine this stuff in the average home with small bedrooms and it just doesn't compute. Most bedrooms would be completely overwhelmed with that junk. I would feel like I was in a dungeon.

Yep! It's like they suddenly remembered again how to play football when they got to the second half.

Our first house had black woodwork on the stairway and landing, and the wallpaper in this area was atrocious.......gigantic cat's faces. I kid you not. To make it worse, the carpeting was bright orange shag.

It was like that when we moved in and we could never afford to change it.

This place has all the original woodwork, and I FINALLY convinced hubby that we must take out the living room carpeting and uncover/refinish the hardwood floors. We've done it everywhere else in the house......he has been holding out on the LR for 10 years. But now he says we'll do it this spring. Yay!!!

I haven't looked at furniture lately, I haven't had time.

Unfortunately, I really need new furniture. But I'm not going to get new furniture until the cat dies.

I did find some interesting stuff at an Amish Furniture place, that I would like for the formal diningroom. But I will have to wait to get it. A big chunk of ground has come up for sale which lays next to us. I won't be spending money on anything but necessities untill I find out how we do at the auction. And if we're successful, I'll probably have to live with this furniture another 10 years until the land is paid for.
