New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Well, if you start drinking early enough, you won't care if dinner is late. ;o)
Thanksgiving Day FUNKLE!!
I did use a frozen crust...but I wanted to use real apples. I should get me one of those apple slicers from King Arthur flour...then I'd just have to pare 'em and trim anything the slicer missed.
Or...even better, get one of those ones that clamp onto a table and slice and pare at the same time!
Luckily the rest of the recipe was easy peasy. If this comes out good, it will be my standard apple pie recipe forever.
You too Suzi.
Happy Thanksgiving, one and all.
Oh yeah, that's when he was still sleepin' on the couch.
;-)
I'm just hopin' they're talkin' about the turkey...
Yes she will, but not today, there's half a foot of snow on the ground and she doesn't get to eat the bone in the house. She had one last week and chewed it to a nub in no time at all. LSA usually has a couple of bones in the freezer for Gypsy.
We have two bedrooms!
Yep, he's now been here a whole year, he'd only been here a few weeks last time when Thanksgiving came around! I don't remember it being a nervous time, maybe he remembers different.
We are going up to the beach house, yes, in a little bit!
Not for sure, I'll bet that 'friendly skies' are a lot friendlier today than they were yesterday. I think she posted that she planned to hit the door as the turkey came out of the oven. Not a bad plan, actually. OB :-)
Those things pop up all the time.... That alone doesn't mean it's time. ;~D
hmmmm. smells like a smoke house. Smoked turkey sounds great.
Got both of the handle wraps done on the two young 'uns bows. Another coat of tung oil tommorrow. Darn near done. What to do, okay, maybe fletch up some arrows.
Happy Thanksgiving! :-)
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
And I'm really grateful to all of you for being around, since I can't get home this year. Makes it a lot easier on me.
And thanks be to God, the backups ran properly. No worries for work today.
With all that food, the dwarfs will break more than bread.
Good Afternoon and Happy Thanksgiving OB
~sigh~ Corin has another dilemma.
Just got word that a friend from high school died yesterday. She beat breast cancer a number of years ago. About a year or so ago she found it had returned and had spread to the brain.
I've actually known her since before we all started school. Her husband was one of my best buddies in high school. But I haven't seen them since our 20th reunion (8 years ago)
My dilemma is whether or not to go to the funeral tomorrow. RT would be about 10 hours. Of course tomorrow is the day the Stormhands' Christmas Extravaganza hits the neighborhood (lights go up).
Am I a bad friend because I think the trip would be too much?
Or am I a bad friend for not going sooner?
Don't mean to be a downer on this happy day. And I'm not really down. Her faith was always strong. We know she's home now.
I just need to decide what to do.
Many many holiday blessings to each and all!
We're off the beach house now, may sign in from up there.
Yes, pretty excited about the bows that are (just) underway.
Check out this thread.
