Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner there may wait...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

g'nad; glad to hear it, hoped they wouldn't have to get the leeches and hot irons out.
The hunters down for scouting or for bowhunting?
A pull off the jug for medicinal purposes is oft times appropriate.

2JM: that's a cool pic of your pet snake, kinda abstract artish, with a hint of realism. :-)

Hehe...I told Matthew to get me a five-gallon bucket and he came back with this old trashcan! It'll do.
I just wrote to an herpetologist asking what type of snack it is.
When it rattles, it makes a rustling sound, like when you blow air between your teeth and tongue.

It's a newborn rat snake. The herpetologist wrote me right back! Told me it was just trying to scare me but it was absolutely harmless. I'd put it out in the back yard, except the girls would eat it and if it did happen to grow up, it would eat the eggs! It's also called a "Chicken Snake" because it eats baby chicks and eggs.
I'll let it go at the park down the street. It's another beneficial creature...eats rodents.

They cannot even tell us whether our controls are acceptable or within common best practices or not. They cannot tell us (understand... these aren't our auditors... they are merely consultants we hired to help us understand SOX). What does it take to become a "consultant"? This sounds like an even better deal than "Big Tobacco" lawsuits, and you don't have to be a lawyer.

Heh - when you said "snack" you knew we'd all post 'It tastes like chicken'. Got a OK herp book but it's at the office.
I'd say just take it to a vacant field, RR ROW, or a creek bottom and turn it loose. It'll be fine.

I didn't get to sleep until 2:30 this mornin. I finally played a few games of Spider to make myself sleepy.
Speaking of games...
We just finished playing LOTR Monopoly. It was like the original game, but better. (Especially since I won.)

I played LOTR Risk one time at that was pretty fun even though I lost.
grrr, I hate it when I am almost done with a project but I am just a few items short and the store that sells those is not open.
:P
Never an N type connector around when I need one :P
It is cold and smoky in here as I try to air out the burned plastic. I either need a much bigger soldering iron or a much smaller torch

Hi!
I was about to post this:

Oops, looks like I just did.
I was just down to the Bg Impersonal Store That Has Everything; they had LotR Monopoly, Risk, and Stratego. I almost looked for LotR Clue (Boromir did it in Shelob's Cave with a Palantir), Scrabble (additional tiles in Tengwar and Cirth), and OliPhun (bonus points if you can figure that one out!).
