Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Glad to hear it on the "all clear" and that you made it back safe from town, which is enough of a worry! ;~D
Celeste told me she was making me a disk and that she'd give it to me tomorrow at church.
Sigh...
I already put my disposable camera in the mail.
We're at the library waiting for the poodles. They're LATE!
What happened to your digital?
The poodles prolly had to take care of business.... Sometimes you have to circle a good long time to find the right spot. ;~D
Hehe...
The library lady just informed me "Sometimes they just don't show up."
Sigh.
Well, the jedis are happily shooting down tie fighters on the library computer.
My digital either is broken or the batteries are run down. The batteries are brand new though...don't know if that is the problem. I'll get new batteries and find out. But I didn't know it until yesterday at the protest.
But luckily I've taken to carrying a disposable with me every where I go...just stuck in my purse. They are light and easier to carry around and I don't worry about them getting damaged. So I got a few of the protest and a few of the ARNG trip on the disposable. Celeste got the digital ones.
We're off! The fire department is giving away batteries for smoke detectors. That's good. But the fire department is also gonna have it's trucks and stuff out, so I'm taking the jedis by there to see that!
Gonna get a couple of batteries too...since they're just giving them away!
See you all later!
Seeya!
I'm going Freeping in a bit. Won't be around much this weekend, I'm going to a nice code and anime slumber party tonight, and then tomorrow we're going from there to the department picnic, which should be fun and maybe I'll meet some of the grad students who haven't been in my classes.
Just checked out the family message board... it seems my little sister is having an interesting week. She got rear-ended on Thursday and this morning the oven spontaneously combusted - her words. The glass door just exploded all over the kitchen and the oven wasn't even on. It must have been something, though, to get her out of bed before noon on Saturday. And of course it's a weekend when my parents are away (which I didn't know... sigh, it's hard being so out of touch)
I don't know why I thought you'd be amused by all this but perhaps you understand how very normal this all is ;-)
I THINK A RATTLESNAKE WAS COMING IN OUT HOUSE!!!
I caught it, and am looking right now for a picture online. It's a juvenile, whatever it is, but when you put the broom near it, it strikes at the broom with a wide open mouth and it shakes the end of it's tail!
I thought I heard a chopper coming (and I did, but it was LifeFlight) so I jerked open the front door and it was halfway up the doorjam between the door and the outside, you know? It was just above the doorknob! It fell down when I jerked the door open and I screetched "SNAKE!!"
I'm still shaking.
Dang it 2J ! You need to have your digicam fixed!
You have an outhouse?!?
Snake! Snake! It's a snake!
Sorry. Ask Bear what that's a reference too.
Oh, my, that's scary! You caught it? Wow, you go girl!
I mean OUR HOUSE
Ah. I saw a snake out in our woods while riding the other day, but to see one in your house... yikes!
I got it plugged in to the wall and took a picture of it. It struck the broom several times and it's tale just shook the whole time.
I think it may be a Western Pigmy Rattlesnake.
Yeah, I swept it into a trash can we had in the garage.
I'd have locked the door and waited for about six hours until it left. Heck, I screamed so loud the time I opened the garage door and found an ox-head snake staring at me, Dad made fun of me for days... but he got rid of the snake.
I also bought the decorations I'd need to decorate the two large wreaths, one 36" that hangs on the outside wall, just outside the sacristy, and a 60"silk wreath that I bought today that I'll decorate and will go on the wall in back of the statue of Mary that's by the Parish offices. I needed a HUGH one for that wall, and last year I got a 48" fresh one. That thing was SO heavy, that I decided to get a fake one this year, and I can use it every year from now on, just refreshing the decorations from time to time. It is so gorgeous, and from 30' away, no one will every be able to tell that it's a fake!
So I'm home now, relaxing and freeping. Y'all got plans with elfboy and bittygirl today?
Well, I definitely know I don't have cardiac problems because if that didn't cause me to have a heart attack, nothing will! LOL
Matthew is such a sweetie. Just tell him that 10 will be even more fun cause there will be so many more things to do as he grows up!
Prayers of Thanksgiving going up!
