Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
I gotcha covered in prayer, Jen. I'm praying for you, and my David, too! Both of y'all are alone in cities where you know few, if any folks, and are starting the Grad school journey.
Best of luck, but I know you'll do well!!
Yes, it does!
I believe it's out of the theater here, so I gotta wait until it's out on video. I've heard mixed reviews, but most of the people who like the same sort of things I do thought it was pretty good...so I think I'd enjoy it.
We rented Hidalgo (yeah, I know...jon whatsisface would be horrified...), but I haven't watched it yet. We're gonna see it tomorrow night.
I just made my appt. to donate blood. September 11th. Gonna not only make the firefighters their special treats...gonna give blood too.
(Fedora, every year on 9/11 the jedis and I make hugh amounts of cookies, cakes and such and take them to the firefighters down the street from us. This year, Steve will get to be involved.)
See you guys later...gotta log off. Steve's gonna be up from his nap in a sec.
Thanks, Suzi! It means a lot to me.
I went to the store for green peppers and looked at the low-carb tortillas. Found some that are like the ones I have been enjoying, but minutely smaller. They're 5 grams carb, once you take out fiber, rather than 7. That seems small, but it means I can have two with a meal rather than one.
I also found a store brand of Splenda ice cream that may be the best I've had. Wish it came in more flavors, but YUM!
fried green tomatoes
It was. The interior is just amazing. Elf-boy's tournament was in a building off to the side of the main house.
He did one step and forms.
What a great thing to do! :)
Mom and I rented hidalgo last week. I watched it twice. I don't think I would rent it again unless PE wanted to see it. It is pretty good, but well, not near as good as The Movie.
I don't think I would have liked it so much if it hadn't been based on real events and real people.
thanks for saving me from myself!
Cool. I feel more comfortable with kids that age doing one-step. I've seen some sparring matches that got a little out of hand, LOL!
BTW my brother took third place in a national tournament a few months ago. He'd only been in it about a year and he was going up against people with a lot more experience, but I taught him some extra stuff to "accelerate" his training, so I was happy to see the results :)
We just saw it too!
What a strange movie. Bear.... now tell us what you were stewing about! In FRMail if it's a spoiler for anyone else.
cool for your brother! After only a year, huh?
elf-boy is only nine or ten weeks into this, and go his orange belt a week ago.
Be prepared for lots of cliches! I appreciated it for the horse training that I could see in the equine actors.
You have heard that the likelihood of ~any~ of it being true is pretty ~unlikely~, haven't you? He has his supporters, primarily among indian tribes and Mustang horse fanciers, but a show I watched by some historians that really wanted it to be true pretty much found that it couldn't be true. No one anywhere in Saudi or anywhere in the middle east has ever ~heard~ of such a 1,000 mile race, let alone one that happened every year. The guy Frank Hopkins was a great story teller, but specialized in fiction, it seems.
Hmmm... haven't seen it, but I'll weigh in on "pretending to be deep". How many movies are really, seriesly deep?
You know, "Those We Don't Speak Of" seemed to misnamed. They sure spoke of them quite a bit.
